rock band or save?

hello,

i have $160 (just enough for rock band) saved up. the question is, should i buy rock band, or should i save for the multitude of games that i want that are coming out, which include:

ninja gaiden II
Fable 2
GeOW 2
Too Human
Banjo 3 (or w/e they call it now lol)
plus other less big names/sports games including things like madden 09 and anything that usrprises me.

whats your opinion (i already have GH 3 btw)

people like you make the world an awful place. i was just asking for opinions as $160 is no small amount of cash. according to your logic, review sites are irrelevant. sure, they make some bad calls (see giving assassins creed a 9) but they serve a purpose of giving a second opinion.

I don't see how him saying that is any worse then all the people saying buy a real instrument. This is a gaming site, those are games and the appeal for them is that you don't have to spend hours upon hours learning one song. Lots of people have no want to learn a real instrument because they would never actually do anything with it. Whereas playing a game is just for fun.

As for your question I'd say get Rock Band, you don't need to always have friends over for it to be a great game either. It's my favorite game of last year and most the time I do play alone

$160 - just be fortunate you live in the States and not Europe where its double that price.

Personally I think it is far too much to spend on a single game, as you could be having a lot of fun playing many different games. Keep it for the new releases coming out this year.

guitar hero 4 will have these same instruments later this year so you could always just not get rock band and get that since it comes out probably early november this year, unless you don;t want to wait.MaChaorules

OR you could buy a real instrument and learn how to play it. I'm kidding, sort of, I just don't get the appeal of games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. I tried GH once and found it annoying. Maybe it is just because I do play guitar and have for over 25 years that I don't get it.Anarky

i hate these kinds of arguements. i play guitar too, but i dont play guitar hero thinking its gonna be exactly the same.. because it isnt. its a GAME. Its supposed to be so that people who dont know can know what it feels like. and for people who do know how to play, work on your fret work with the harder difficulties. Knowing how to play guitar as an excuse for being bad at guitar hero is a cop out.
