So, like many of you, I had the chance to play Rock Band at Best Buy. I came away pretty disappointed. First of all, the demo song list wasn't to my liking at all. Whatever.....so I picked Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet. I started playing with the guitar. Didn't like it at all. I hate how close together the buttons are and the note patterns are nowhere near as good as GH3. I then moved to the drums which I loved. Except for the fact that there was lag from the time you press the buttons to the actual onscreen action (Best Buys fault...not Rock bands.) I didnt like the interface either. It looks like something a college sutdent threw together. I much prefer Guitar Heroes over the top, tounge in cheek presentation to Rock Band's sharp futuristic (for lack of a better word)menus and interfaces. Guitar Hero has much more soul in it...Rock Band feels like a corporate project. Regardless, I will be getting thr game anyway because I'm sure it will be fun with friends but I am sure Guitar Hero will reign king.

Corporate huh? You probably didn't notice all the over the top advertising in GH3 did you? You also probably didn't notice how Neversoft didn't really change anything from Harmonix's work? Sure they added a different looking sp gauge, and a different looking note counter, oh and I can't forget the new songs. Nothing wrong with tried and true but don't bash a game just because it doesn't something different, just because it wants to distance itself from it's own product (GH will always be a Harmonix IP not Activision's, to me anyway). Never rate a game based upon a Best Buy set up either, thats like saying, "I met a girl at a party but she seemed distracted," the game will be different when you get it home, much like the girl's attention ;-) I am sure more people will buy GH, but Rock Band will be the better reviewed, and game in general.

Man i played it at best buys to. And loved it! Im on getting it for the Drums but the guitar seemed cool. And the demo track list was awesome. The only issue I noticed was the Framerate was horrible at alot of parts.

Did you happen to miss the part where I said I will STILL be getting and and where I said that some of the issues must have been Best Buys fault. Yah, thought so

I only played the demo for a bit, and I have to say the drums part only gets me wanting this game more:PNever really embraced the whole GH scene, but I like to think with Rock Band I can rock out with the guitar, some drums and for chuckles go straight vocals... sure beats one way of rocking ;)
