I want one of these two games, but Im not really sure which I should get. Its my understanding that you cant go wrong with either. Now I know that only I will make the definitive and final decision, so please dont send hate letters telling me that you guys cant help. Im just looking for some advice, pros and cons of each maybe. If it helps, Im not really a newbie to these games but Im also not a veteran. When it comes to these games I guess I can be considered slightly above casual.

^I agree. Also if you spend a little microsoft points, you can import all of your rb1 songs, not to mention the 20 songs you get when you register a code from the inside of your book, and all of the previous and current dlc works for it. Also heard the instruments were better quality as well for rb/rb2.

I say RB2 also....better song list I think. Plus the Drums for GH:WT has been having some problems.

I only own RB2 but yeah as stated before you can't go wrong with RB2.

RB2 pros:

-more songs (RB2 songs + RB1 songs import option + more DLC).

-better drum set.

-better multi-player experience and really friendly with casual players (with the "no fail" option even grandpa can rock with you).

-it looks better in my opinion (GH tries to get a more metal look, but it just looks ugly).

Cons:

-GH has the complete new Metallica album as DLC ;__; (I'm a Metallica fan).

-some people will tell you RB2 is a little bit easy than GH-WT... but as you stated you're not a hardcore gamer of the rhythm genre so you'll be ok.

a rhythm game is a rhythm game. They are pretty much the same game but one with circular notes and one with square notes. Look at the setlists and see which one you prefer more. Also RB2 has way more DLC. But if you get good GHWT instuments (which the majority of the release ones where faulty, but the ones now aren't so faulty) they are much higher quality than rockband's

How about both?? But if you don't have that kind of cash then go with RB2: better setlist, is the only main reason. Red Octane makes the best guitars, so for that topic i'd go with GH:WT. tracklist is the biggest part for me, so i'm getting the GH:WT band bundle, and just the RB2 game.

Would recommend Rock Band 2 based on the gameplay. Harmonix still knows better how to bring across the 'real' experience of playing music by the way they know how to place the circles / boxes. Also, loads of downloads. However, you can't go wrong with either of your options, and would by both in the end. Also, RB1 can be bought for cheap, and gives you loads of songs, all of which (except for 4) you can play in RB2 if you pay 400 MS points (or something like that).

I personally am going Rock Band 2 because from what I've heard the drums are sturdier (I'll use my GH3 Les Paul for guitar), and because of the sheer amount of content. Lots of songs on the disc, ability to transfer songs from the original, be able to play downloads for either game using either disc. I just think it's a better experience.
