EA has confirmed the price for Rock Band, following the European date announcement this morning.

Europe, unlike the US, will not get all of the instruments bundled together with the game.

Instead, you will have to fork out for an Instrument Edition at GBP 129.99 / EUR 169 - comprised of the drum kit, guitar and microphone - then buy the game separately for GBP 49.99 / EUR 69.99.

Anyone after the whole lot will be looking at a total of GBP 180 / EUR 240, then. That's rather more than in the US, where you can buy the game and all the instruments for USD 169 - equivalent to around GBP 85 / EUR 107
Absolutely disgraceful. Surely there can't be ANY justification from EA as to why the UK price is so different from the US one?

Well we usually have to pay around the equivalent of $90 for a single game. The Americans complain so much about having to fork out $600 for a PS3, but that's less than we have to pay even after a price drop. It's ridiculous but I'm not into Economics so I couldn't tell you the reasons for it.

I agree, that is disgraceful...but we are over paying all the time: UK = new game = £40 = $80...US = new game = $60 = £30...we are paying atleast £10 or $20 more on every game we buy in the UK...

How the hell can it cost £100 more to release the same game 6 months late? Even at £180 you only have 3 instruments, and need another guitar for a full band.

At £180 ($360 USD) it is now more expensive to buy Rock Band than it is to buy the xbox 360 needed to play it on.

Reading the article I thought at first we were getting it for £86 (the currency equivalent of the US price), and thought that compared to GH3 that was reasonable, considering you get an extra couple of instruments. But to find that even at £130 you don't even get the game? WTF?

The only thing I can think of about the pricing is that they are hemorraging money with the current peripherals. I have already sent my guitar in twice, and my drums are not far behind...And I am not the only one that has had to send in the instruments multiple times. Hopefully, for the money the UK has to spend, they will get higher quality instruments.

It would make sense for the one console release right now, too. Gives them more time to focus on one set of instruments. Honestly, this is all just guesswork, but it's the only thing I can think of aside from giving you guys the screw job.

£180 is a joke. I could buy a 360 or a wii for that price. 2.5 x more than USA, no thank you!
