I dont know if I lucked out but I beat him on Insane on my first try within 10 mins. When I did it on Co-Op it had taken a lot longer but that was because I was fooling around :P
took me 4-5 tries after i watched the video on youtube of the glitch in general raam fight. youtube general raam glitch and youll get the video how to beat him easy. i beat him on the easier difficulty and tried for like an hour to beat him on insane and couldnt do it so i did what the video did.
To be honest, not too long. He is hard but once you get to know his moves and such, he becomes easier. You just need to learn where he goes, when to run to the other side and when to shoot. Its still hard regardless but once you know the technique then its not too bad.
Just to enforce the point made previously by Caddy:
No doubting he is very difficult to beat, but once you have had a few attempts and learn his movement patterns, its just a case of being disciplined with your movements and accurate with your shots.
I used the Lancer and Torque Bow combination to beat him. You must be pretty skilled at the game to have made it to this point, so a little patience, and maybe a little luck :D and you should beat him!!
It really depends on how he ends up moving in the fight. Sometimes he walks into one of the boxes, and gets sort of stuck and keeps walking in place. When that happens, he's not too difficult to beat. When he's walking around the boxes, like he's supposed to, he's way more difficult to beat. I used the torque bow and sniper rifle with grenades. Headshots with the sniper when he's far away, using the torque to get rid of the kryll surrounding him. Then grenades when he gets close.
first time i tried it took me a whole day and i still could not defeat him. untill i went online and found out about the glitch that makes him stick to a wall and tag his A$$ goodbye
His movement patterns aren't always the same. Sometimes he releases the kryll shield early so you can get some headshots but sometimes he just walks straight down the middle of the area. Other times he will go around the crates to your left and other times he will get stuck behind a crate to the far right. Not to mention the fact that Santiago in solo usually gets incapacitated but if he remains alive by chance he can provide a diversion for you to run to the other end. The Reavers flying past can kill you in a few shots if your exposed or even behind cover at the far end of the train.
It didn't take me too long when RAAM was stuck behind a crate - just hid behind the same crate & blind firing torque bow then lancer once kryll has dispersed with the occasional throw of a grenade. Even then i ran out of ammo & had to dash to the other end to get some, finally defeating raam with a few grenades as he approached.
Without the glitch it takes a while longer as you have to get some 18-20 ( i think) headshots , but i used the torque bow too and the occasional grenade when close. Takes some luck to run from one end of the platform to the other but the ramp leading to the troika offers a good spot to snipe ( dont go to far up or the kryll will get you).
not very long. i'd say about thirty seconds. i walked up to Raam and said 'i am telling your mother about this' and he backed off. i was rather surprised actually. Cuz he shot Dom into pieces.
I found the key being : blow out the side fences on the train so you can manuever better, using grenades to stun him so you can run past as he gets close, and finally using the Troika gun to mow him down. For the other difficulty settings the troika isn't necessary but I found it was with the insane setting. Give it a shot. took me about 10 tries I think until i realized that.
i would say about five minutes. in co op you can do it in under two. it took me about seven tries on my own the first time. now i can beat him almost everytime on insane even when alone. you just load up on torque bow ammo and sniper rounds. as soon as the cut scene is over i start shotting him with the torque bow shot after shot with perfect reload. after that he is usually up close to you. i run around to the opposite side. and most times it takes 4 or 5 head shot and he is done for from the sniper rifle. every so often i dont get all perfect reloads so i run around him to the opposite side and pop him a few more times. if you dont care about getting head shots it take smore shots but is easier because you can jsut blind fire on him. pretty simple really. a dissappointing last battle.. actaully now that i think of it. all the boss fights in gears were pretty darn easy.
