Phone cable >> Router > Xbox 360

Router > Computer

Now if you use a modem and a router, then

Phone cable >> Modem >> Internet cable > Router > Xbox 360

Router >> Computer

I am using a cable connection. There are 5 ports in the router one is WAN and the other four is 1,2,3,4. Where should I connect these cables? One is from the modem, ones from the pc and the other one is from the console.

Since you're using a modem, you connect a cable from the modem into the wan port on the router.  And then you use either of the 1,2,3, or 4 ports to connect your xbox and pc to.

Make sure your phone cord is connected in your modem also.  I don't know what else to tell you.  You probably gonna have to call your ISPs techincal service so they can help you through phone.  But like I said, check to make sure your phone cord is firmly connected into the wall socket and modem.

If this is a new router, your gonna have to go into the settints 198.162.1.1 i believe and put in all your info on that. this way, you will continually be connected to the internet, and never have to log on (on PC). this keeps the line active and XBL should hook up NP.
