Agreed.
I miss my Breath of Fire type of RPG's. (not dragon quarter tho, it sucked)
They need to combine Breath of Fire 1-4 and make the best old school rpg this gen.
I love all the games you mentioned, but compared to the JRPG style of games, they are no rpgs (contain elements but these are non defining).
Oh hell yes.....Breath of Fire games were amazing! Especially #3.....Peko - a playable character that was AN ONION hahahaha. And yeah, obviously Fallout 3 is another I forgot to mention! I'm thinking about picking up Tales of Vesperia, can get it fairly cheap nowRabanthaVesperia is a great game. Battle system is a bit slower than the rest, but still a great game with likeable characters.
The RPG-Hybrid genre needs to go, now !Lulekani
No, it actually doesn't.
It needs to be explored more.
I'd prefer some large production old-school, turn based RPG's as well to make a return somehow. But there is room for both, especially since there is still tremendous potential for hybrid RPG's.
I'm not disappointed in this gens handheld RPGs, but for the 360, yeah, kind of meh. But go play Tales of Vesperia.

Totally agree! Turn based can be VERY fun games.....I say keep exploring. No problem with variety, if anything you should embrace it, not reject itPlease Log In to post.
