Hey guys. Im in need of a good RPG. I know about games like Mass Effect and Two Worlds and Blue Dragon and all those games coming out. Im really debating wheather or not I should get Oblivion..I rented it when I first got my 360 back in October, and I just thought the beggining was terrible. But after reading peoples comments on the game they to also said that the beggining sucked, but after that it was a very enjoyable game. So I was wondering, is Oblivion worth it at this point now that its been out for a year? or should I just sit and wait patiently for the upcoming titles? even though I really need an RPG fix right now! I just dont wanna go and waste money on something not entirely worth it..thanks in advance for your responses.

p.s. List any other RPG's you've enjoyed for the 360..but if you do list a game, please leave something brief about what made the game worth buying..i really need a good RPG to hold me over...THANKS!

I loved Oblivion so I'd say definitely give it another chance. Even tho it's a year old, still a great game. Also, check out the Eternal Sonata demo on XBL today...it's an action jRPG. Haven't played it yet as it's stiill downloading but i've heard great things about it.

Um, well if you can wait for another couple of weeks for Oblivion, I think that there is a Game of the Year edition coming out, and I think that it has some extra stuff.

But yeah, Oblivion is a great game.

What was wrong with its beginning? The moment I stepped out of the sewer and looked at the surroundings is one of my gaming memories I will keep forever.

The game is awesome and it is what every RPG should be. Its greatest downfall, however is the continuous loading screens. They are terrible, but very well worth it. The game is awesome, and if you consider yourself an RPG fan you have to buy it.

Unless your PC is high-end, get it for the 360.

If your pc can handle it, get oblivion for pc. There's a ton of great user-created content that you can download for free that really adds quite a bit to the oblivion experience. But only get it for pc if you have a pc that can run it well.

Oblivion is fantastic. Strangely, I did not like Morrowind, but loved Oblivion.I thought the beginning was quite cool actually, customizing your character step by step, while serving as a good tutorial. Stepping out of the sewers is an AHHHH moment.

For me, the only downside to Oblivion (and it was worse in Morrowind) was that you often feel directionless - it's like you have TOO much to do, and you are tired how expansive it is. I would recommend picking a path (i.e. the Thieves Guild, Fighter's Guild, etc) and sticking to it. In between, you can do the main quest which is fairly linear or pick up some side quests.

One of the best RPGs I have ever played, and I've played alot. But like you, now I am dying for another decent one on the 360 (and I honestly don't know if Blue Dragon is going to be my cup of tea).
