Ok so last July i need quick cash and I sold my 360 to someone at my school (plus i was worried of the RROD since i didn't buy a warrenty) now it turns out that the machine died, so i was wondering can u still get it replaced for free even if you are not the original owner?

If the Xbox 360 was already registered then no, they can't offer the warranty to him, unless he has proof of purchase. but since you sold it to him at school I guess there is no valid proof. If it wasn't registered then he can register under his name, and he would be considered the original owner.
