[RUMOR] Final Fantasy 13 XBOX 360-- 7 Discs?

Is this rumor true? I just heared today. A Rep came into my Future Shop (Canada's Best Buy) and said it is confirmed. Can anybody get me a link?

Absolutely. I thought I was behind on gaming news or something. I couldn't really believe it because with compression technology I would assume it would be more reasonable.

We were comparing FF13 on PS3 and Xbox. He was saying 1 disc for PS3 and 7 DVD's on 360.

Anything above 4 is too much IMO, compress the sound data devs.

yeah for the rpgs the reason they need so many discs is for the cutsceneces but teh actual game dosent take up that much. If it needs 7 discs so be it ill still buy it that dosent change the experiences at all for me. I doubt it tough unless its really long and by that i mean over 50 hours with a ton a vids coming up every 5 seconds.

It can have as many disk as needed, i will enjoy the game to its fullest. Getting up to change of disk isn't hard.

WOW.. you really think installing it would help at all? Let me remind you.. In order to play a game off of the harddrive.. the GAME MUST BE IN THE DISK DRIVE. Which means you will have to change it every time needed as well as changing it multiple times in order TO install it. I am just going to stay away from this game...

Wow unless this game last ten hours I see no reason to care about chaging a disc every few hours.. Not to mention this is just a rumor..

well i honestly hope it turns out to be true. that means the game will be longer and that it will unclude tons of beautiful cutscenes. so the more discs the better.

I laughed so hard when I saw the forth disc in a paper sleeve on top of the manual. :lol:

7 discs seems a bit excesive but as long as its good then whatever... make it 10 discs for all I care; I'd still buy it. :P

Even if it is true, who cares. We're lucky to even have the game. I'd rather it be on multiple discs than nothing.

56gbs huh....don't blu ray only hold 50 gbs of data on one disk?

does that mean there will be at least 2 blu rays?

I call BS on this too. Obviously the PS3 is going to have tons of uncompressed cutscenes since a dual layer blu-ray can hold 50GB. With the great compression tools we have today, I'm sure they can fit the game on 2-3 DVD's while still keeping the cutscenes looking great.

I'm no fanboy and I love the 360, heck i play it every day. But this just shows why BluRay is so much more conveniant. But then the upside about the 360 DVD format is it's easier for game delevopers to develop games on it. But then cases like FF, needs BluRay. lol.
