For all of you that have beaten the game and watch the credits you see the master chief lives and re enters cryo gen and says wake me up when you need me. Well this could tie into the marathon series.Ive heard a few rumors that sorta point to a marathon game. First of all the marathon series is based 40 years after halo 3. Not to far away if you ask me. Another thing that pointed to a new marathon was the unlockable marathon helmet also known as the Security helmet. Im also wondering if the person you play in marathon happens to be the same person as the master chief. Well halo maybe be over but no one ever said anything about marathon ending. If anyone can shed some light on the subject plz reply.
I'd beilieve it. It won't be called Halo 4 because the rings are destroyed and the covenants defeated. But did you beat it on legendary? There's an extra 20 or so seconds of footage that could prove a new game starring MC. I hooooooooooope soooooooo.

Marathon takes place in 2794, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon_%28computer_game%29) Halo takes place in the mid to late 2500's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_series). That is not a 40 year difference.
[Mild Spoiler] You guys beat Halo 3 on Legendary right? The ending is longer in legendary and sets up Halo 4. Go beat the last level on legendary. (I'm not making this up, Halo 1 had the same thing - longer cut scenes for legendary)
thx bobder i was told diferently. Well now that we know theres a bigger difference in time lots could of happened to the galaxy and everything over the course of time so now a new marathon game sorta makes even more sense.
I remember Gamespot saying Halo wil have episodic content similar to GTA IV. I say no to a Halo 4 but yes to new levels. Also another game starring Master Chief will be made, why would Microsoft want the rigths to Master Chief if there would be no more games featuring him?

i just thought they wanted the rights to the halo liscence for all the spin offs like halo wars....... granted too there may not be any more games but theres a movie in talks still, and as has been said before the planet has the signs that were pointed out to be the forerunners home world. It could spell out the beginning of the movie, or it can be a branching point for future novels as well. But common sence tells us there will be more master cheif soon, its pretty hard to turn down a huge paycheck, and you would have kids putting reserves on anything with the halo name at this point. you could put out a game of tic tac toe and throw a halo logo on it and kids would pay.
my friend says that he heard there was a secret message at the end that says Halo 4: Return of Master Cheif. i haven't asked where he heard it, but google it and i bet you'll find something.

They have the rights to the "Halo franchise" not just Master Chief. Doesn't mean they couldn't make a game in the Halo universe without Master Chief.

You might have a point, like in the ship he finds new amor, that would be kick @ss, and if yu read some of the terminals instead of skipping through them, it will hint t a halo 4, what do you think?
