I Had a 360 for about... 3 Days and it broke down, Luckly it broke so soon i could easily get a replacement from the shop and so i did. I'm trying to avoid the early fate of the previous console by looking up safety Measures to keep it from going broke.

So far i hear the majority of people say laying the 360 flat horinzontally is less of a risk than vertical. Keep it on a harder surface, My previous one was on the carpet but now i nailed a bit of wood into the floor and it eits on that. I'm making sure that the power brick dont touch the floor as i hear that its also bad, and finnaly i open my window when ever i play (Its open most the time anyway) to prevent more overheating.

Any other tips?

i would get your 360 off the ground just 2 b safer. I have mine on top of a lil bookshelf where i keep all my games. and the power brick kinda stands vertically. It's supported by this mass of wires from all the crap i have.

That's not true. A lot of rrod's could be avoided by actually taking good care of the 360 (not all of them though, obviously)

To be honest it is all luck mostly, sometimes regardless on how well you look after your 360. One of my friends literally keeps his 360 next to a radiator and hasnt had any problems for the 2 years hes owned it, though another one of my friends who's generally looked after it very well, had the RROD after barely a month.

Not much you can do about im afraid, just make sure you always have an active warranty for at least the RROD...which reminds me I really should renew mine soon...my console really is acting up now.
