I know these posts can get a little annoying, I am having trouble trying to decide which of these two games I want.

I have never played a Splinter Cell game before and I really liked Saints Row 2 and The Third (I haven't played the first). I feel like Saints Row IV might be better for me, but I am worried it is too much like The Third. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for replies.

I enjoyed the first two SR games, third was decent, but after seeing gameplay and all the trailers for SR4, I am definitely steereing away from that way. It's way too over the top now for me to find it enjoyable. Blacklist does look promising though.

Splinter cell.. the game is awesome so far.. I'm probably about 6-8 hours in. Saints Row doesn't appeal to me.

I have never played saints row before bt I hear its similar to gta, is that true? I am a big fan of splinter cell and this new one is suppose to go back to its roots with stealth gameplay.

I'd say GTA is a lot better, but Saints Row is still fun. A lot of people say Saints Row is like "GTA on acid." I am just a little worried about Blacklists replay value. Saints Row is like one of those games where you can sit down and play whenever. I do like that Blacklist has stealth though.

I already preordered that haha. I'm not one-sided when it comes to Saints Row and GTA. I mean, I do like GTA more, but I find myself playing both a lot.

I played the last one and thought it was really shallow. Other people might see that as a positive so to each his own.

Get SR2 if you haven't played it. SR4 looks like SR3 with superpowers, thats about it.

I recommend splinter cell over saints row. I have a feeling that SR would be a waste of money since it was originally supposed to be downloadable content

I just beat Black List.. pretty sweet game! I just did all the main missions, now going to play through some of the side missions. Saints Row is good for those that enjoyed the third one.. personally I'm waiting for GTA.

im getting both...Splinter cell for my Wiiu, Saints row 4 for the 360...saints row will likely last longer than splinter cell though so if you enjoyed the other games(which you say you liked them) in the series go with saints row

I decided on Saints Row because I have played the others and I like the open world.

I think I may pick up an older, cheaper Splinter Cell and get Blacklist once it comes down on price.

Thanks for all of your feedback! :)

Unless you want to pay $60 for a glorified expansion pack...SC:Blacklist is the only logical choice.

Have not played SC but I loved SR3.  It was a mania with me for about four weeks.  They kept everything I liked about the GTA series, fixed everything I didn't like, turbo charged it and put a ton of humor on top.  It's the only open world game that I have ever played where I enjoyed hangin' in the open world even more than the story.

Still I dunno about SR4.  Can they catch lightning in a bottle again?  I'm guessing yes.

I never enjoyed any of the Saints Row games. I've played all three but was pretty disappointed each time. So with that said, I'd go with Blacklist. I think not having played a Splinter Cell game before is a plus for you. It should end up being a new experience for you and there are three ways to play it- Single player, Co-Op, and Competitive multi-player. Heard that all three components are very solid and you would not be disappointed in owning it. It would definitely keep you occupied until GTA V comes out.

I ended up getting Saints Row IV. I figured since I have played all of the other SR games and have not played any Splinter Cell games, it would be better. I really like SRIV so far and have played it more than I probably should have haha. My friend also said he would let me borrow his copy of Conviction. From what I've heard, Conviction is not the best in the franchise and is a little more action packed, but I think it will give me a good idea of the game.

If you do the side missions it'll keep you busy for over 10 hours easily. Especially if you play on a harder difficulty.. then your looking at a long game.. even longer if you play co-op missions too.

I spent about 5 hrs on the first 3 co op missions alone... I still have the other 6 and they all lend themselves to high replayability due to the extensive customizing of weapons and gear...

Splinter Cell is a TPS...the same a SR4...it contains way more options and game modes than the mindless violence that fills games like GTA and Saints Row. It requires clear tactical swift and precise action. The fact is the whole game can be played without firing a shot. Try that next time you are playing that glorified expansion pack.

Splinter Cell looks as good as any current gen game available. Are you referring to gameplay? If so...I recommend you play it before you give an opinion. It plays superbly and is easily on of the best Tom Clancy games to date. If you don't believe me, read the reviews.

Honestly, I just finished Blacklist- It was an absolute riot and incredibly good game. Great customization, smooth gameplay. It's also more of a stealth game again, thank god. I understand what everyone was worried about, though: I thought Blacklist was going to be "meh" but it rocked. Hard. It was short, though. Maybe 10 hours. If that.

You have just scratched the surface. The co op is some really good stuff. The spies/mercs is back and really good too, however whether or not you have online you really need to try the co op to get the full experience of the game.

I couldn't pick just one, so I had both reserved. Just finished Blacklist tonight and loved it(Took me a lot longer then ten hours as I wanted to finish all the side missions first and get all the collectibles), i'll be starting SR4 tomorrow.

Saints Row IV is nothing more than an over-glorified and expensive ass expansion to Saints Row The Third. The only reason I bought it was because my wife loved Saints Row Ther Third and she wanted IV. Splinter Cell Conviction was really good, and with Black List they brought back Spy Vs. Merc from Pandora Tomorrow which is well worth it in itself.
