saintts row 2 or GTA 4

i have to agree this is a sorta hard question to answer but i personally have chose GTA 4 and thought the game was phenominal , i thought about waiting for saints 2 and said nah i kant wait that long , and yeah from all the pics of SR2 ive seen and having beat GTA 4 id say if u like a lose nit story but crazy ass explosions and havock id get SR2 , if u like a tight Nit story and crazy explosions as well as great and near to hour long get lost in the game sessions id go wit GTA 4 , i hope that helps u some what

While I have yet to play SR2 (duh) it looks amazing from the videos. They added all this crazy stuff to mess around with including many things R* took out of GTA4.

GTA IV will chew up Saint's Row and spit it out, only to stomp it into meaningless piles of goo (which it already is).

The first one was great, you're just a hater :-) You probably haven't even played it. It's 100x better than San Andreas, which is the game it followed. The next one is following GTAIV...

Oh no, trust me. I'm a huuuuge fan of open world games, but I pretty much had to force myself to play through Saint's Row.

And it wasn't near the quality of San Andreas, either....oh well.

It's a 10 in MY book. I don't base my opinion of a game off of some score a reviewer gave it.

Well you obviously haven't played it. Please don't make fanboy posts, they just muck up everything.

Why is Saints Row even given equal status to GTA? It's a stone cold unoriginal rip-off of GTA. Yet it is lauded to be as good or better than the franchise that inspired it. All you need to know is this, Volition took one look at GTA4 and announced that Saints Row 2 will be delayed for 2 to 3 more months. Suddenly it's not ready now. Saints Row was not terrible. I liked the single-player campaign but the multi-player was an abortion. Saints Row 2 will look good and the story should be passable (oooh revenge, original!) but it will always be the red-headed stepchild to GTA.

knowing tha saints row 1 is not a perfect game like GTA 4 is, i would say gta 4LAbitw

research? are you kidding me! this game ws FLYING off of the shelves. of courseit was a launch game (read my post before critisizing) and noone really thought it was good bcs it came out so early. if you want to go on a rampage and do complet randomness, choose saints row. if you are a freakin nerd who likes russia and dresses up like a DUMB imagrant (wich he really is) choose GTA4. but comparing saints row and ga4 is just pathetic! launch game

I'd suggest getting both, they are two totally different sandbox games. both have their pros and cons. I would get GTAIV for now, and then SR2 when it's out (Been pushed back until October btw)

I think Saints Row 2 is in a fantastic position to beat GTAIV, because they can look at the competition and still have time to make changes. Look at the things that GTA is criticised for and do them better, or atleast not make the same mistakes.

GTA was good, but it was hugely overhyped, doesn't deserve a 10/10, and once you've played through the game there is nothing left to do. By making it more realistic they took away part of what made it fun
