Ok I am trying to sell my 360 because I'm mad at XBL support and I don't like my games much anymore...

I called Gamestop... and for an Xbox360 Premium with the 20GB HD... they give $150 in store credit... WTF??? the 20GB HD alone in their store cost $99.99???

Gamecrazy was a little better at $235... Is there anywhere I can sell my 360 where I can get a decent trade in and not loose $300 from what I paid for it...?

I would do Ebay, but I'm only a Kid and I don't have a credit card or Paypal...?

No, sorry kid. That's the way business works. I too recelty found out that Gamestop only gives $150.. It stinks, but that's how they make a ton of money. I bought an Elite, that's the only reason I am selling my other 360. Why again are you selling yours?? There are so many great games coming out very soon. You should re-think it..

im gonna buy a ps3... i like socom and killzone more than halo and mass effect... i played socom for many years before xbox360 release... i never played halo online... so if i get halo 3 i will never be able to do anything online because there have been nerdy fat kids devoting their lives to playing it for 3 years so i will not stand a chance... mass effect does look amazing but i like killzone better because the end of the first game left you hanging and I want to finish the story...

Dude, I played Socom for many years before Halo came out, in fact it was the first game that I played online, but let me tell you this; Halo is much much better than Socom. Plus, you don't really need to worry about those nerdy fat kids who played it online forever, because unlike Socom, Halo has a matchmaking system that pits you against people who are at a similar skill level as you. Don't get me wrong, the matchmaking isn't perfect, but odds are that you probably won't play against the people who are really good, unless you get really good yourself. When the game first comes out the matchmaking system will still be fresh and won't be accurate because everyone will be level 1 out of 50 in all the matchmaking playlists but it will get better after about a week or two. As for Killzone I don't know, never played it, but out of all the shooters that I have played I must say,Halo reigns supreme. Plus, Mass Effect looks friggin amazing. If you have any questions about anything just ask and I'll see if I can answer them. :)

Yeah its pretty easy to pick up Halo and get used to it, I only got it about a year ago when 360 came out because I never had a regular Xbox. Do what the other guy said and just save up for a PS3 so you can have both. That's what I did and I'm very happy.

I remeber reading somewhere that it will have the ability to host custom games in lobbies like socom. It wasn't in the beta though. let me see if I can find a link.

Well I couldn't find a link because the web was full of the custom game glitch in the Halo 3 beta, but I do remember reading something that would allow you to host custom games that would let anyone online be able to find and join.

If you haven't played the Halo match making then I could understand why you would like the lobby/room feature better, it makes you feel that you have more control over what you want. However, the Halo matchmaking is nothing like the Socom auto-join/matchmaking. The auto-join in Socom just throws you an any random room, but the matchmaking in Halo offers very diverse forms of game play, and you can easily chose what you want to do. You can play deathmatches, team deathmatches, objective games (capture the flag, plant the bomb, kill the carrier, juggernaut, V.I.P. ect., the list is too long for me to go on for objectives.), team objective games, and these gametypes come in 2v2 4v4 and 8v8. Not to mention all of the other gametypes like team snipers, team swat, team training (unranked), and there are others too that I can't think of right now, and they are all in the matchmaking system that ranks you against people who are at a similar level as you (except team training, no ranking for that one). Now there are minor things in the matchmaking that you still can't control, but it doesn't make it less fun, or annoying. Personally I think it keeps it fresh and interesting, but that's just my opinion, and if you do come across something that you don't like, you can veto it. I probably made that sound more complicated than it actually is, but it's an easy thing to use. I love matchmaking in Halo and I would never want to go back to something like Socom because of it. Also on the off chance that you did, don't think that the Halo matchmaking is like the gears matchmaking, they are completely different.

I alsofound this stuff and it I thought it was cool and worth mentioning.

The game currently supports match making, but the final retail edition will have an abundance of online options. Players can search for several players and join up with them. Once a map has been selected, the team can veto the map for something new or stick with it, with "majority rules" applying. Over the course of the game, players can silence anyone with the push of a button -- a nice touch. Players can also invite their competition to team up in other sessions.

Through the small but thrilling online campaign, players can customize their Spartans, ranking numbers and so forth -- just a small sample of the customization that lies ahead in the final release. Another feature that deserves mention focuses on the ability to save replays. Players can save an entire deathmatch session to system memory, and then review it to see what went right during a match. This playback feature has incredible possibilities, especially if replays can be transmitted to other Xbox Live users.

You'll get a better price for your 360 on eBay. I'd sell your games and accessories separately - you'll get the best overall price from many smaller sales than one big one.

Mind you, you might want to think twice before selling your 360 for the reasons you've stated. SOCOM should be pretty good, but I was really disappointed in the original Killzone. It just didn't live up to the (considerable) hype. Killzone 2 might look impressive now, but if the gameplay is as bland as the original you're better off sticking with Halo 3.

If you're still set on a PS3, I'd personally save up for one but keep your 360. By the time you've saved enough money, chances are they'll drop the PS3 price again.

Why are you guys talking about Halo? The kid wants to know if he's getting scammed. And guess what, you are. GameStop is the biggest scammer of them all when it comes to video games. I remember earlier this year my friend had an unwanted 360 game as a present, it was unopened. He traded it in for about 16$ store credit. Did I mention it was brand new and unopened? That alone shows you how much they care about the customer. I'd try my chances with eBay if I were you, especially if your system is in top shape, that alone usually gets you lots of bids. You don't necessarily need a credit card though, just get a parent to help you out. If eBay doesn't work out then just sell it to GameCrazy, that's your best bet.

Kid, keep your 360, its will be so worth it, specially with Halo3. Halo is basically the best of games with online support, youll regret selling it once it comes out for socom.

What did they charge for the console without the HDD?

I thought when the 360 Elite came out the reports of trade in values being higher than that, and if you planned to buy the Elite right then and there it would be more.

See:
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6169221.html

While of course you don't want the Elite trade in thing, but these reports show the normal value without trading for the Elite was higher, $190, not $150, I wonder why it changed to $150

I have no idea why the trade in was changed and why they give so little... I said how much do you give trade in value for an xbox360... the guy said premium, core, or elite... I said premium... he said ok then let me see... $150

and the guy saying ps3 stinks... i didn't ask for your opinion on games... graw is a good game but the multiplayer is garbage... it may have been fun a year and a half ago when graw 1 came out... but graw 2 is exactly the same... and i mean that.... it is the exact same game just with new maps... same camera... same gameplay.. same weps... nothing new about it at all... there is nothing you can do online... everyone just gets an mrc and sprays and prays with the 50 round mag...

I dont care that you dont like socom... i love it and i dont like halo... i played the beta included in the crackdown game and hated it...

all i wanted to know is what is up with the trade in value at gamestop and other places...

i didnt say i didnt like 360... i said im tired of the non english speaking and non helpful support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and the fact that all of the games i play are no longer fun for me...

most of the games coming out this year do not interest me... i think mass effect looks amazing and like a fun game but that is about it... bioshock looks great but it looks like a very weird game... and like i have stated before... i am just not interested in halo...

games like madden and call of duty which i love are being released on both systems and i love socom and killzone... which are only on ps3

this post has nothing to do with disliking my 360...

They are a scam. I'm planning on getting a new 360 soon. If they fix my old one I would just give it to my sister because she likes to play games also. I wouldn't trade it in if I was you because they have alot of great games coming out. The PS3 is cheaper now but I still don't see any games worth buying right now. If MSG4 was out I would try to get one.
