well, you can try going to target and telling them that ur xbox was up right then ur little bro knocked it down scratching the disc. The guy should understand and give you a new copy without showing them a receipt or anything. It should work.dbzkelly
are you kidding me? Does that really work!?! I have 3 scracthed disks from my 360 falling over... are you for real?

If you run into a Target employee who has a total disregard for company policy, then you'll have a shot using that strategy. Good luck.
copy it on another dvd-DL by nero it will workkakarotaa
well number of things
rent halo and swap disc at block buster or w/es
i heard microsoft replace disc for 20 bucks

I'm continuously disappointed at the responses that these threads tend to generate. It's not Blockbuster's, Target's, or Walmart's problem that your disc got scratched. To swap discs is unethical and it's illegal. I'm especially bothered by the poster who suggested that you have a friend do it for you. Are you so concerned about your own personal pleasure that you would steal a disc and leave your friend to take the fall for you?
Here's what you need to do: Either go to Microsoft and pay the money to have your disc fixed. Or, go to the store and buy another copy yourself. Period.

It makes not one bit of difference whether or not they can afford it. It's still illegal and it's still wrong. Further, because people insist on doing stupid stuff like this, it makes it all the harder for legitimate returns to be made. Have you tried to return something to Walmart? It's a hassle and a half. Further, Blockbuster games cost an arm and a leg because of stuff like this.
I can afford a box of Cheerios. It doesn't mean that you can come into my house and switch your empty box for my full one.
this world is full of "smart thinking" and trust me screwin Walmart or Target in the back is the least of my worries and the greatest of my pleasures.virus_1369
Please, if you think that's "smart," I feel very sorry for you. I had ideas like that when I was five. Adulthood carries with it certain responsibilities, including paying for things that you want.
Unfortunatly the game i play the most on any given basis, halo 3, has two scratches and I am unable to play the game anymore. What are some solutions that you guys may suggest to help me out(not toothpaste)RealKilla_789
You should call microsoft and get laughed at. You would brighten someones day, and the recording of you wanting something fixed would provide laughs for future generations of microsoft tech support.

yeah actually a while back my guitar hero 2 explorer broke so i went to walmart, got a new one, and made the switch. i now have a guitar that works. i shouldnt have to pay 90$ to buy another guitar that broke after only a few months, especially when i was using it the proper way.

No, you shouldn't, which is why you should save the receipt and return it the legit way. They have a 90 day policy on such things. Further, there is usually a 90 day factory warranty on such items.
If those things don't work, then I'm sorry. Sometimes crappy things happen. We've all had things like that happen. It's impossible to manufacture something to work 100% of the time. Because you have bad luck with something doesn't give you the right to screw somebody else out of something.

Agreed, and its worse with discs, in would seem that you have the rights to play the game wether your disc works or not. Rewarding microsoft every time a disc is damaged by buying a new one doesn't make sense.

Do you feel okay that those stores get most of their products from overseas with no hcild labor laws? I might add that is Illigal in the united states but these companies still do it and get away with it.

I still fail to see how that justifies stealing from them. The thing to do is simply not shop at those stores. By bringing this point up, all you are doing is shuffling deck chairs on a sinking argument.
A mob boss may have made money by selling drugs, killing, extorting, and whatever, but I can still go to jail (perhaps that would be the least of my problems :) )if I steal his car.

I still wouldn't say it was injust to steal his car:P
Tragic that he might have to increase the prices of drugs to buy a new one.

I agree... anyone who's seen Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price will screw Wal-Mart at any available chance.
Here's what you do:
Rent the same game form hollywood or BlockBuster, carefully remove the sticker on top of the game and place it on the old disc, and VOILA!! new game for $6.00 plus tax.
Or you just clean it yourself....and stop being lazy and take care of your discs
