Ever Since the demo appeared Bioshock has been hyped up to the the standard of Halo 3 and Mass effect. So from the one or two reviews that havesurfaced so far(I've seen one proven10/10)and how much you liked the demo, give it your score prediction for GS.

I guess a 9.2

Based on the demo, I would say 9.3 or higher.

8.5-9.0 GS 9.3 or 9.2 would be impossible on GS since they round up their score and it's usually a .0 or .5

I guess it depends the reviewer so I'd say either 9.0 or 9.5

It's hard to tell from the demo but maybe 9.0-9.5 tops for 360 and PC.

Frankly I could give a rats arse about scores but for the sake of not having to read a thousand threads like :

"BWAHAHAHAHAHA Bioshock FLOPS with an 8.9" I hope it gets a nice solid 9+.

I think it will be a great game no matter what the score but I get so tired of people getting their knickers in a twist over a game getting .1 less than they think it should get or being AA or AAA.

if that idiot jeff reviews it, then it won't get a 9 or higher simply caus of lack of MP. other wise it will probably get a standard of like 9.6 or there abouts.

I'll guess a 9.2 from Gamespot, several 9.7-10's from lesser sites. You can never be positive that Gamespot will rate a game higher than 9.0-9.2.

To the people who keep saying 9.1 and 9.6, please remember that Gamespot revised it's scoring system so that reviews for games only get scores in .5 increments, ie. 8.5, 9.0, 9.5.

As for the review, I'm torn between a guess of 9.0 and 9.5. I think the lack of multiplayer will probably keep the game from hitting 9.5, so I'm going to say 9.0.

I thought that was just for user reviews. That's awful!

In that case, I'll say a 9.0.

Why does MP matter in a score???? Think about it...GS has given a couple games a perfect 10 and didn't have MP!

The way the hype is going, it may get a 10. The demo is a 10 for sure. Garnet from 1up said that the ending is very good. If the game holds up like the demo, it will get a 10. I predict 10.

I didn't say that it affects my opinion about it, in fact I'm rather gald that there is no multiplayer because it lets the developers focus more on the single player. I was giving my opinion on Gamespot's review, not mine.

But to answer your question about multiplayer, it's simple really. Muliplayer provides longevity for a game. Some games suffer without good multiplayer, where as some games are not affected by it. Nobody likes dropping $60 for a game and being done in 6 or 8 hours like so many games these days. Mind you, I do not think BioShock falls into this category because it's supposed to be fairly long, plus it has 2 endings.

Chronicles of Riddick (Xbox) got a 9.0 without multi-player and it was also very short. Bioshock is much longer.

 Nope. In fact, I much prefer single player games to multiplayer games. I enjoy a good multiplayer game sometimes, but I would much rather kick back with BioShock, Oblivion, Mass Effect and similar games.

I'd say 9.5 but most likely it will be 9.0 because Gamespot has started rating games very hard.

It should be about 8.8...I think it's been too much hyped and after I played the demo, I can tell we're now in a Make-Your-Own-Fashionable-FPS era.
We get all those "high personality" and supossed to be creative and really special FPS on the 360 these times, but after all, they're all the same : The Darkness, Call Of Juarez or Bioshock, or Condemned. I'm tired of all these fps, I feel that I play all the sames and they're supossed to be unique.
So my prediction is based on the "The Darkness" score, which is 8.5 and based on the fact that the game is going to be a little bit better and based on the fact that the hype has been much more huge, Gamespot will have no choices but to put a higher score than The Darkness.

I'm going to say 9.0 because If I predicted a 9.5, and it didn't get that, I'd be dissapointed. If I bet 9.0, and it scores higher, I lose nothing.

Since we are talking about GS reviews, I say it gets a 9.0 or a 9.5 no more no less, and Obviously will be an editors choice, but I just dont see them giving it a 10, who knows though. Based on the demo I have played about 12 times as well as the review I have read Im going to go ahead and give it an honest to goodness 9.7 since I dont like the .5 rating system, Bioshock has in my mind lived up to System Shock 2 and imo surpased it.

Based on the DEMO which was amazing and if you have not yet played it you need to I would say a 9.5 min. It was amazing. AAA by far and possibly one of the games of the year if it palys out as good as the begining of the game does.

I somewhat agree. Developers are putting more and more emphasis on atmosphere and presentation while forgetting about core gameplay. But I think Bioshock will be a pretty interesting take on the new FPS/RPG hybrid that's been getting popular.

As far as Gamespot ratings go, take M2TW (I know it's PC and a completely different genre) for example. They gave it an 8.8, and the developers of the game admitted they shipped it early, with features they knew that were broken (such as polearm unit attacks), in order to have it out before Christmas. I generally use Gamespot ratings as a range to determine how good the game really is, as sometimes their reviews are spot on but other times they're rather shallow. With that in mind, I suppose Gamespot will give Bioshock a 9.5.

I personally think that this game will rate 9.0, most likely some errors or something random to drop it down .5 points and another .5 will come from the lack of multi-player maybe. i think the they'll take off for multiplayer because it's become sort of standard in the gaming world that shooters, should have multiplayer due to online service and such, so yea. plus remember, gamespot is hardcore in rating and even a 6.5 - 7.5 is a good rating, not that bioshock will ever get that. gamespot doesn't inflate scores... they practically deflate them.

Under the old review system: 9.6 - 9.8
Under the new review system: 9.5

Yes, they will knock off some points for no multiplayer.

One of the best games and possibly the best. I will guess a 9.6, i dont think it goes higher than that.
