Bring back in to EB or Gamestop (or whatever game storeyou bought it from)with your reciept and see what they can do. Did you get a warranty with the disc when you bought it? That would cover it.

But it is common knowledge that if you move your 360 even a inch with a disc inside it is going to get chewed up.

I think there is some kind of disc replacement policy, but the cost of doing it is usually more than just buying the disc again preowned.

Some stores may be able to offer a re-layering process (available in Game and Gamestation in UK) that grinds away a thin layer of plastic from the read surface to remove or reduce scratches. There is a limited amount this can be done, and it cant get rid of really deep scratches, but it may make the disc playable again.

If your 360 does it again, and you know for certain the console didnt move, then you could contact MS support and see if they will do anything. Chances are they will deny it and blame you, but you can always give it a go.

Yeh, I heard moving the X360 from one position to another when its on completely ruins discs.

Here's an easy solution though. Go down to your local video store, and ask them nicely if they would spin the disc in their cleaner for you. Most stores have theses machines that will skim a layer of to prolong the live of their disc because they get so knocked around by customers.

Go in there in the middle of the day when its quite, and the boss isn't around, slip them a $fiver and they will do it, and hopefully that wil fix it.
