The xbox 360 you saw was modified. There is no model of the 360 that comes with a see-through casing. Sorry, but your stuck with a black or white one....unless you get one of the bundle packs.

All the one I've seen for the 360 are mods done by users. Microsoft hasn't really done much to change the look of the Xbox 360 yet. The older Xbox had tons of mods that you could buy. I think the Halo edition xbox (original) might have been translucent, but not too sure.

True, but you could mod the case. http://aleptu.com/xbox-360-mods-0519202.html Apparently companies sell cases as well as led fans for the 360. http://secure.llamma.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=858&osCsid=aa232e978918a81b25c0be6c1ce6286b

Technically yes you could, but such discussion is prohibited in these forums.

I don't think a CASE mod is violation of the ToS, your not actually doing anything illegal.

Pretty sure case modding is allowed. Microsoft doesn't ban for it. It's basically like saying don't talk about doing the x-clamp fix.

Talking about case modifications is fine on the forums, however it will still void any warranty you have on your console. These sort of modifications are purely aesthetic / visual and give no performance benefit.

The type of modification that is banned on the forums is talking about chipping or flashing consoles to enable them to play pirated games

Modifications that provide some benefit is a grey area - like modded gamepads with rapid fire - they are frowned upon, though I don't think they are banned from being discussed.

My apologies then, I'm on a wrong streak today.

You can only do this by modifying. I'd only mod if you hired someone that has modded someone else's Xbox 360 successfully. Don't modify the actual hardware/gamertag and such because Microsoft will find out about it.

Just buy faceplates.

Whoa!!!! Slow down man. I'm just talking about adding a massive spoiler to a civic not removing the catalyst converters. I'm only talking about visual mods, not a "chip." I don't promote these things, but being unique is something that should not be frowned upon.

Not that I know of. You might wanna check a few random computer stores or independent video game stores. They might or might not.

It depends what you are looking for as many of the components may be available in a PC hardware store. For instance if you want case fans with LEDs or add other lighting inside your console, then those sort of parts are available as PC mods, so may be available in whatever is your local big PC chain. As for finding something very specific to Xbox 360 like a clear acrylic case, you will probably have to search the internet to find a place that sells those - not likely to see them in retail stores
