The DVD drive and motherboard was changed! The thing is, when I try to plug in the thing that is connected to that thing with light in(don't know how to descibe it) it doesn't fit. I know the reason for this know! There is this small thing in the plugged of where it should be plugged in to power up the controller(this is on the back of the Xbox360) and the same thing is on the powercable I try to put in. This wasn't there before and I don't understand why it is there now. I hope you have a clue what im talking about. When changing motherboard and DVd drive, it that gateway to plug the powercable into changed. Fornunatly I have another of these, which doesn't have that in the middle, so I can use that. I really just want an explanation.

Sorry about bad grammar, but english is not my first language. I would really appreciate a response.

Probably would be best to call them at (800)-4MY-XBOX. They probably just sent you a new 360 that is somehow not compatible with your current cables, or there is something wrong with them, but they could get you going much quicker than anyone here could.

No Its the same console, because my saves are still thereand it says when it was manufactured so. Also I didn't mean controller by console of course. Someone must know if this plugin changed when changing the motherboard and DVD drive. I realize maybe you have a hard ime understanding what im talking about, but its is not very easy to describe!

Your either speaking of the USB cables (probally not) or the power brick (the power source) in which case make sure your not trying to plug it in upside down. If thats not the case next check the port in the back (the hole where you connect the power brick) to make shore if anything is bent. Same goes for everything else pay close attention to the connection ends. I hope this help. No point sending it back if its simple human error.

Basically theyhave pgraded the motherboard and as it is a newer model and requires less wattage, it requiresa dfferent PSU (power brick). Call microsoft and explain this to them and they should sendyou a different PSU. As for the game saves, they would be the same regardless as you dont send the memory unit or HDD inwhen you have your 360 repaired

I wish i could understand your question better, but i think your talking about your powerblock. Easy fix would be to just go and buy the right power block for your new xbox.

Simple. They sent you a new xbox that uses the diffent power supply. They made them different so you can't mess them up using the wrong one. You still have all the saves because they are on the harddrive and not the xbox. This happens every once in a while. Just call them up and tell them the problem. They will send a new power brick.

your saves etc are on ur hard disc etc they wouldnt be moved so that has nothing to do with this. phone up ms and tell them, they obviosuily put the wrong board in for your power brick. they will be able to tell you if ur other power brick is suitable or if you need them to ship a new one out.

actually its the very same Xbox360. They just repaired it, because it got the ROD! I says that the DVD drive and motherboard has been changed with new ones, but its still the same machine not a new one. As I said I already have a powerport that fit, but I was just wondering why this is. When replacing the old DVD drive and motherboard with new ones, does the plugin in the back changes. I still have all my saves on the console and my profile so its the same console. Just want to have this cleared up. English is not my first language so im sorry if you have a hard time understanding me, but I would really appreciate an answer and perhaps an explanation. Thanks!

Also I have two Xbox360 and the powerblock with one of these fits with the one that got repaired. Now someone said that my other powerbrick would perhaps not work with my repaired Xbox360, but it fits. I would also like an explanation to this.

It is really odd that they would repair your console and send it back to you. The usual thing is to put yours in a pile to be fixed and they give you one that they already fixed. That way you are not waiting. All mine have come back like that. When I sent in my launch one they replaced it with an similar one that had a new drive and such. Saves are always on the HDD or the mem card not the unit. To prove it take off the hard drive and try and find your game saves. I would still call them even if you have a power brick because why should you use yours when they should have sent the right one.

agreed, saves are on your HDD not the system itself, the only way you can tell if thats your 360 or a new one is by the serial numbers in the back, its possible they gave you a new one or switched out your motherboard with a new one, if this is the case your power brick may be ineffective, call Microsoft and let them know your got your 360 back and your power brick doesn't fit, they should send out a new power supply to you.

they sent u a new 360 motherboard. the newer 360's have a little plastic thing in the middle of the power thing. the older 360 power cables have a slice in the middle. when u try plugging in ur 360 the two get caught. ur going to either call up microsoft and have them send u a old motherboard or u can buy a new power brick off of ebay.

You should never have to buy something because MS messed up. They will give you one for free if they messed up. They are good that way.

I am not sure what you are talking about Star. What I understand is he send one xbox in to get repaired and the one he got back for what ever reason does not work with his original power brick cable. MS usually sends one back that is the same but sometimes messes up and sends back a console with a different set up. They made the plugs different because the different consoles use different power and they don't want you to use the wrong one and fry it. So if they messed up they should either replace the console to match his brick or give him a new brick that matches that model.
