i heard on google news that m$ made a deal with a korean company called "limelight" or "lime-something" to go into xbl and make the service WAY more reliable. They were supposedly going to make downloads quite a bit faster, and add xbl support to a bunch of local broadband providers in rural areas...that's what I heard anyway...
I think most of us agree that this will be a nice server update for the arrival of Halo 3 due to the fact that even on the first day of release the game might crash thousand of times on Xbox Live.
I hope its only down for a few hours like it said. Sept 10 is my birthday so I will be busy, but I'm still hoping to get a few good games in that day. I'm also getting a new 360, and not being able to try it out the day I get it kinda sucks. :P I'm pretty sure its for the limelight thing or whatever. They won't have to worry about servers crashing that much for Halo 3. We pay for Xbox Live, so they use that money to make the servers powerful enough to hold the people needed in general. Lots of people are going to be playing Coop over xbox live. And if it does crash. TO XLINK AND XBOXCONNECT!
