I would think they could at least manage I dunno...20 Gigabytes at least if they have a 250 GB HD and a 4GB HD for $100 less. May as well buy the 250 GB model, which i'm sure Microsoft intends for me to do.

People bought the Arcade models that doesn't even have a GB of space. These are for those people. If you want a larger hard drive new Xbox 360, you should get the 250gb one. Also if you have a computer you should have USB storage devices, you can use those too.
These Arcade models are made just to make people think they are getting a good deal buying the cheaper model and in the end the spend a lot more money. This happened before with the Memory cards, the older model harddrives and the Wi-Fi adapters. The harddrive is essential for this gen consoles. But in the end this is the way MICRO$OFT WORKS.
Yeah, it's not made for casuals. I'm pretty sure casuals like to play downloadable games, too. They just want people to think it's enough and hope they haven't done their homework. Then when they realize it won't even let them install games, they'll want a bigger HDD. They should have a 20-30GB HDD as a minimum for the Arcade so people can at least install and play games like Forza 3 and FFXIII.These Arcade models are made just to make people think they are getting a good deal buying the cheaper model and in the end the spend a lot more money. Way to make this and another thread in SW.
But It worth it, since its a huge upgrade from the old Arcade models, plus added features, and being Kinect ready.
This is a better deal than the arcade, for starters. And like I said in the Slim news section, I use Xbox Live, and I manage to use less than 2 gb of my hard drive. All you need to do is download the content for the one, or two, main game(s) you play REGULARLY, and then when you want to switch a game, delete the add ons for the main, or two, and download the add ons for the new game you want to play. Rinse and repeat everytime you change main game(s). For those of you too lazy to do that, or find that, that is too harrassing, well...don't buy the console. It's not the console, it's you.
It is the same xbox. Same graphics and process capabilities, the so called kinect ready is just a port that they could easily use a usb for kinect to work. That port is just an excuse so all the million who already have an Xbox if decide to get kinect then they will need to purchase another adapter. In reality t this new Xbox S is the same old console with a shrink motherboard. They have more usbs but what's the deal? three were ok and you could just spend 5 to 10 dollars and add more via an extension.Way to make this and another thread in SW.

And the fact that it now comes with 4GB of space is a good thing not bad, considering before you had to buy memory cards and now you don't. Seriously why is this even being discussed as negative when it's such an obvious good thing is beyond me.[QUOTE="Hobbsey07"]

Again, incorrect. The motherboard is a new design. The CPU, GPU and eDRAM onto one single chip where the fan is right on top.

I agree. Its a great deal if someone is low in cash and wants to get into gaming.
That's more than the cost of the current 360 250GB slim!!!!
So it would cost you at least $113 over the old Arcade price of $199 to upgrade to a Slim Arcade and you still don't quite get the same thing not to mention less than 1GB of memory vs the 4GB the slim now comes standard with.

Current/Old Arcade: - 256 MB of memory for game saves.(will require you to quickly buy a memory card) - no built in Wi-Fi(you have to buy an add-on) - no direct connection for Kinect( requires its own power supply) - jasper motherboard - white, standard Xbox design -consumes more power -price $199(not including firesale) Arcade Slim: -4GB of memory (saves money on a memory card) -built in Wi-Fi -new mother board -Kinect ready, no need fto use Kinect's power supply chord and another power brick -black slimmer design -consumes less power -price $199 Now let's see what it would cost to have the Old Arcade with the same added features: Arcade price - $199 Additional memory card or hard drive =$14.99 gives u less than 1GB. You can upgrade to a 20GB hard disk for an additional $45. Wi-Fi - $99 Total $312.99 - $343.99 depending on which route you go.

You also forgot to mention that the new unit also has a new opitcal audio output which previos models didn't. You would have to use MS proprietary cables to get full surrond sound before.

Forgot about that. What do they go for nowadays?
Oh yea, this is a question that has been bothering me for a while now. They keep saying the Xbox 360 has 4GB of Internal Memory, but is it not being sold with 250 GB Harddrive?
Best Buy Deal in Canada
Or am I talking about two different consoles right now? Because until this moment, I was talking about the console linked to that link.
The 4GB Arcade Slim is a fantastic deal. $200 for a new slim 360 that includes a 4 GB Flash memory stick, built in WiFi and its Kinect ready. As others have pointed out, the first Arcade didnt have any memory capabilites out of the box nor did it have WiFi. Those two things alone cost you an extra $120 or more. Now granted the Arcade slim 360 doesn't have the nice shiney gloss casing like it 250 GB big brother, but that is merely cosmetic. Overall this is a great deal for those who aren't huge into the XBOX Live thing, or maybe for those folks that own another console and want to get a 360 for a few exclusives but dont want to fork out $300.

Not sure what you are asking but I will try to answer.
That's an add for a Xbox 360 250 GB console which is out now. The "real" version which is $299.
The Slim is the old "gimped" arcade....now, exactly the same as that one other than hard drive and still at $199. This one, which this thread is about, comes with 4GB internal flash memory, and yeah at this time it is NOT sold with a 250GB hard drive. In fact, no external hard drive add-on has been currently announced as of this time.
