So I just got this email tonight. It is probably the most stupid suspension ever... Seriously?

This email is to notify you that your Xbox LIVE account privileges have been temporarily suspended due to inappropriate content in the profile for your gamertag. The inappropriate content was discovered in the Motto, Bio, Location, Name and/or Personal Picture.

The following content for the gamertag associated with this Windows Live ID was brought to our attention and was determined to have violated the Code of Conduct and/or Terms of Use:

Bio: Ya I spawn kill get over it. Dont lose

Your profile was brought to the attention of the LIVE Enforcement Team through complaints filed by other Xbox LIVE users or in the course of our operation of the service. The LIVE Enforcement Team has reviewed the complaints and other evidence regarding this content and determined it violates the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and/or Code of Conduct. Because this content is in violation, the LIVE Enforcement Team has deleted the content and issued a temporary suspension.

blah blah blah and so on...

Just because a person says something in their bio does not mean they commit the action. Im not going to be charged with murder if I say I killed my brother but he's standing next to me.

Thats the thing, people will complain about anything. I've said this on here before but my bro got suspended for having "Sexy Zombie Killing Beast". Someone reported him because they were pissed that we beat their arses in L4D and he got suspended for offensive language in his bio. It's getting ridiculous what microsoft suspends people for. Unless a real life Zombie reported him then who the hell can find that offensive?

lol man, that might have me beat. I just cant believe it honestly. I understand if I had something there that really can offend people, but just because i was killing somebody multiple times because they sucked does not mean they need to have their feelings hurt and report me. LOL... sexy zombie killing beast.. Thats awesome

I agree that it's no reason to be banned over. Athlough I will say spawn killing is just cheap, theres no skill to it and it makes winning a hollow experience.

Why don't you guys just try using normal bios and not ones intended to be edgy/ piss people off. Im not saying what you guys did was that bad but im just saying that it can be considered offensive to the people at MS who go through these things. Xbox live is like a gated community they get to decide who stay and goes so just be chill with what you put in your profile and you wont have any problems . This isn't facebook, twitter or youtube most of the stuff that's acceptable there wont be on live. I can assure you if you had something like "Hi my names greg" which is something a normal bio would have then you wouldn't be banned or suspended no matter how many times you get reported and if you did you could certainly argue your way out of it.

Now if your not willing to do that then dont complain because you obviously want to be banned/suspended and dont want to use the service

I believe there's a section on the actual Xbox site where you can ask specifically why you were banned, if you feel like debating it with them.

Complain and get the decision changed, MS are lazy and do not actually check these reports any more (I assume they once did anyway), a 2 week ban is not only extreme (considering you have done nothing) but it is also a mark against your tag.

I'm shocked this can get you banned. If you look to spawn kill...developers have to do a better job at preventing spawn killing in there games. its not like your saying you cheat. i thought only racist and vulgur info gets banned

I don't understand why people need to put inflammatory stuff in their bios you shouldn't get suspended for it but putting something in there just to piss people off is just childish and dumb. So I don't agree with your suspension due to content but do on principal. It's like when people complain about bans because of being reported for being obnoxious on their mic's. "oh but I didn't swear or anything" Yeah but sitting their screaming into your mic or playing loud music or anything else to be annoying just for the sake of being annoying is worthy of a 48hr ban IMHO.

OneBadLT123

First off, your bio was apart of trolling and second of all you need to make a better bio than that, your bio was basically reported by several users and it isn't a serious thing but don't make bios or comments that can upset people(trolling). A solution to this would be wait until the "Suspension clock" is up. I'm pretty sure you were given a chance by microsoft to change your bio but other than get you face the consequences. Don't go moaning in here after from what I said. Crime = Time, deal with it.

You can't be saying its the dumbest reason, your bio was making you look like a troll WHICH upsets users.

Excuse me, but don't we all pay them enough money to put whatever the hell we want in our stupid little bio's? I mean seriously who cares other then a whiny 5 year old who cant stand losing!? If microsoft wants us to remain loyal they best quit this crap asap. Ive read about these kinds of instances far too many times in these forums as it is. Stop suspending paying customers for no good reason!!

It's their ToS, and if anything comes close to violating it, the user will be prosecuted. That being said, just use the bio feature like how it's supposed to be used. TC's bio could've been his motto. When did biography mean "type how good you are at games"?

This.

You're screwed on XBL. Most of the time they don't even look into these things and just go by complaints filed. If 20 people file a complaint on someone for cheating, chances are they'll get banned.

I can't tell you how many messages I've gotten from recent players asking me to file a complaint on someone else. I file the complaint, only on them. :)

Not that should have suspended you, if you do spawn camp then you should be disciplined for that. Sorry. You may have been reported for spawn camping, in addition to that bio.

I won't buy a game whose multiplayer has the chance of spawn camping because that is broken game to me.

It happens in some games today, but its not as bad as a few years ago thankfully.

You know, I'd think the reason people Spawn Camp is because they can't stand losing.

I mean, if spawn campers didn't mind losing, then why not compete face to face, inside of hiding.

Please, don't say play better defense. Killing someone before they have a chance to do anything is unfair, and games where that is possible are broken.

I'm hoping game developers in the next few years help get rid of it altogether.

If you put something offensive in your profile they can suspend you, especially if people complain about you for cheating via spawn camping.

I mean do the people playing defense on first base trip the guy waiting to run to 2nd base just before the batter swings? No.

Personally I think this is a funny saying but someone might get mad so it can get suspended. I'm sorry but anyone can get mad over anything and whine about it. It's getting old people, man up and stop taking offense to everything. It is one thing if a person is swearing or making racisist/derogitory terms but this is getting to be too much.

See, I dont go out of my way to spawn kill. I play a lot of Battlefield games and in conquest once we get all the flags, we are coming for you adn we will spawn kill you. The round ends faster and it's a good way to rack up a ton of points. I got sick and tired of people sending me hate messages, or cursing at me through voice messages through the messaging system. So I put that in my profile.

Maybe I should report all the people that do that from now on instead? It can go both ways too.

But thats besides the point.

Me and 3 other squadmates (we 4 play all the time) were on Battlefield 1943 and well, we were owning people left and right. I guess we just made enough sore losers mad enough that they reported me. I just dont get it, why do people have to be sore losers, and when did Microsoft lose their spine? It's seems now they will ban you for everything.

Of all the terrible racism, hate, and bigotry I hear in a typical game and see in peoples gamertags, I get suspended for coarse humor.

There are a number of things that scream out to me when I read your profile and none of them bode well for you I'm afraid.

The first problem is you clearly state that you "spawn kill" – As a father of eleven I find it quite disconcerting that you flagrantly parade this fact around. My next assessment suggests that your "spawn killing" might actually be contained to in-game practices, but even so, it displays poor gamesmanship on your end. The last and most heinous element of your profile is the egregious assault on grammatical decency. For shame.

I will now bathe endlessly in hopes to rid myself of this shame glaze I am covered in. I urge you all to do the same.

Nice, so if I am offended by peoples profiles containing what city they are in, I want them suspended!

Not once did I ever harass anyone. They came to MY PROFILE looking for trouble. Not once did I ever send them a message, or directly harassed them. Period

That argument you made is really weak dude.

My little brother got banned for the gamer tag "humpasaurus," at his young age he thought it sounded funny, he didn't intend for it to be taken as "sexual dino," but that's how people took it. There's not much you can do. Play some single player offline, use the time to boost your gamer score, complete a campaign you haven't been able to beat. It's only two weeks.

  • Don't create a gamertag, profile content, Avatar action, Avatar content, or in-game content that other users may be offended by. This includes, without limitation, anything related to or suggestive of: profane words/phrases, topics or content of a sexual nature, hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled substances, or illegal activities.

  • Don't distribute, post, publish, upload, disseminate or discuss defamatory, infringing, obscene, sexual or unlawful materials in any format (images, audio, video, text, etc.). MS cant suspend you for having city in your bio and if it ever did happen you can easily talk your way out of it because that would clearly be a mistake. Second someone shouldn't be able to find trouble in your bio its a biography man biography , your just trying to be combative. It can be seen as a offensive and even harassment. Go google harassment and the first thing you'll get is a wiki page that has the def. Harassment is commonly understood as behaviour intended to upset or disturb. Your bio was intended to upset and disturb sorry to burst your bubble.

I understand your upset but you have to understand that you have to follow their rules. Just because you pay doesn't mean you have free reign over xbox live. Follow the rules and you'll have no problems. Ive had live for 5 almost 6 years now and have never been suspended or banned and don't you think for one second that i haven't pissed many people off or just had tons of sore losers file complaints on me. Fact still stands that you wouldn't have gotten suspended if your bio was a normal one.

I wouldn't say your argument is very solid, either, dude. The TOS are written as vaguely as possible to include pretty much whatever they want in their list of possible offenses "without limitations." Personally, I see nothing wrong with what you wrote. Claiming to use a horribly cheap gaming tactic is hardly offensive in my opinion, but you did something to rub a bunch of people the wrong way to get yourself reported. Just judging from your last few posts its clear to see you can be an abrasive person. Maybe its the way you conduct yourself while playing the game that has led you to this. My motto says "Dance F*****r Dance" with a MSP symbol for the "C" and no stars and I've never been reoported for anything because I don't give anybody a reason to want to.

You were trolling.

Castorz

Yeah, only if XBL could start banning people for what they say during the game. It would decrease the number of instances that I've been called the "N" word, the "P" word, and among many others. It would finally shut up all those trash talking kids who can't just enjoy the game for the game.

Your bio is what made players angry to report you, don't make stuff like that because it often brings in the "Hatreds". Next time make a different bio and plus some other person had the same related thing like this months ago. It's only 2 weeks, you can make it, play some single player missions while the time passes, at least you aren't banned.

Stop suspending paying customers for no good reason!!

darth-pyschosis

No.

Ok, allow me to correct myself. I AM NOT in any way shape or form advocating spawn killing, its an abohrent action and I do not endorse it in any way shape or form. It is a jerk move, and I cant stand people who do it.

My issue is with paying someone for a service, and then not being able to use it the way you want. I understand its their ToS and blah blah blah whatever, but can it do gooders, its stupid for them to suspend someone for such a silly reason and you know it.

Could we just leave our bio's and profiles blanks, yea sure, but then what the hecks the point of having the space there in the first place.

That's unfortunate, but ah well, we can't rewind time. Best thing we can do is just avoid anything (and I mean anything) that could be seen as offensive, etc.

So today Im playing RDR and I see the gamertag C U AT UR SPAWN. Now, by what some people have stated previously, shouldnt this person be suspended and/or forced to change their gamertag?
