No offence, but why didn't you rent it first? Basically what you got was a $30 1 day rental, OUCH!

See what Gamestop sells it for used, then sell yours for $5 less on Craigslist.

The one day rental was your decision, not GS's

I guess your unfamiliar with their policies. This is no shocker TO ANYONE!Except you obviously.
Is this literally the first game you've ever traded in?

To be brutally honest the fact you picked SR3 over Bf3 or Skyrim in the first place screamsbad taste or poor decision making on your part. Blame yourself.

I don't see how you making a poor buying decision has anything to do with Gamestop. And I never understand why people are so shocked and make these kind of threads. Gamestop is known for this. They aren't ripping you off, worse, you are choosing to let them rip you off. You have no one to blame but yourself.

yeah you def should have sold it on ebay or something for a game so new you could have easily gotten $50 - $55 even with it being used.

GS dosent do that last time i checked. They only do that for used games. Brand new games can only be exchanged if they are defective other than that they will not take it back even if it is still in the plastic.

GameStop isn't a rental service. I've seen many kids at my local store come in and complain (actually physically complain right there) that they don't like their games and want something else. Tough luck. If you want to try a game, places like Blockbuster have plenty of great deals. I believe this weekend alone they had 49 cent rentals on games. TC that means you could've rented the game for a full week for under 4 dollars. Also I would check the trade in values somewhere else. Best Buy usually has pretty good values compared to GS and I'm sure there are other stores that do it. If not, try selling it on Amazon. If you price it for 45-50$ I'm sure someone will buy it.

Yea, i guess so...Where to you buy your games now bro? On ebay and amazon? Gamestop's trade in credit is pretty horrible, which isn't any news by any stretch, but all around they're a pretty solid dealer.

just looked it up and they still say that they dont take new opened merch back. Their words straight from the website

"Opened new merchandise may be exchanged for the identical item within 30 days of purchase but, with the exception of opened new accessories, cannot be returned for a refund."

link = http://www.gamestop.com/gs/help/Returns.aspx

If your store is doing that they shouldnt consider yourself lucky.

they really arent though. They rarely have good sales besides the occasional B2G1F and the prices are always to the maximum on new and used games. Amazon is a much better place to shop plus you usually get better pre order bonuses and credits towards future purchases.

For example MW3 was at $51 instead of 60 on amazon at launch. I combined that with a $20 dollar credit i had from a previous purchase and a $10 off code i had and bam i only payed around $20 for my copy of MW3. You will never get that at gamestop.

Ebay is a much better place to sell. Much better in the case of old and new games as you can easily get the price that gamestop is trying to seel the game for.\

The only reason GS exists is because of convenience but you pay for that convenience dearly imo.

lol im not calling you a liar. Im just saying that isnt normal operating procedure for gamestop and at all of the ones ive been to, they dont take back new opened games. Many times ive seen people get mad in the store when they come back and try to return a game the same day they bought it only to find out that they cant. So its ingrained in my memory pretty well.

really you paid 60 thank Mr government for the 5. ALSO WHY are you mad? they tell you what your going get before you commit to the trade. IF you was out to get the best price you would said no and looked somewhere else. Gamestop is a business they have employees to pay and bills. ALSO for the future, only time it's good to trade in games to gamestop when they have a 30-50% bonus trade in offer then little extra whip on the topping gamestop pro card.

Last week gamestop had a 50% trade in bonus when you buy a pre owned game. You know what i did? I traded in gears of war 3. original offer? $30 + $15 (50% trade in bonus) +$3(gamestop card) - $1 for the ps2 game i bought. $48 bucks same price i would mostly got off ebay. Thats how you have to work gamestop.

most time there 30% is pre orders so just pre order a game. Then buy the game and just return it right there. If you don't want the game.

Why are you upset with Gamestop? Always looking to point the finger at someone else... maybe you should have rented it, yes? There's also a playable demo on both PS3 and Xbox 360.

Look, They cant take your game and sell it new anymore. Stop complaining. If you buy used you have 7 days to return it if you dont like. Dont buy games your not sure you want. Some people will buy it for $45 on craigslist. They are running a buisness. They dont even have to buy your game if you dont want.

Gamestop sucks as far as pawning in games go. If you were to go in a return a "Call of Duty: Black ops" they'll give you $12, and then they sell it for $30 used.

This is why I buy new games from Walmart. They actually allow you to return the game within 7 days for any reason. There really is no point of buying New from gamestop when you can go to most retail stores and get the same game, for the same price, and still be allowed to return it if you need to. Used games is a different story and even now I typically don't buy from them because there is a used game store in my city that charges way less. Their most expensive game is $38.99 and that is for brand new games that people trade in.

If the factory seal is broken on a new game at Gamestop, the game is unreturnable (unless the game doesn't work) and you can only trade it in. But I think a new game is unreturnable at pretty much any store with the exception of manufacturing defects.
