1) Rumor has it, reviewers did not receive advanced copies of the game. Therefore they will be analyzing it at the same time we all do.
2) Since Shadowrun is a predominantly online game (there is the option to run through training and set up bot matches, but no campaign), you can imagine that reviewers need to wait until the game launches to even begin the reviewing process. Therefore nothing can happen until the game launches and the online community is built up. This is the same process used when reviewing MMOs, which is why MMO reviews don't happen until up to a month after launch.
3) I picked up the game yesterday, and I must say it is pretty effin cool. I have been running through the training levels (there are 6 of them, each one explains important components, most of which have never been explored in a tactical FPS) followed by a bot match where you use what you just learned. I have played a couple of games online, and like any game of this specific genre, a good team can make a good game. This game is much like your Counter Strike, where tactics are highly important. Take that and add in the fact that you have four different races (each with very unique abilities) and a number of magic and tech options that are unrivaled in other games like this. I am not a reviewer, and like I said, I have only played it a little bit at this point....but I'm seeing this game getting high reviews (8.0 and above) and being a must have game of the 2007 (or at least summer 07).
