It's one thing that Shadowrun is a multiplayer-only game going for full price. But the fact that it's multiplayer only, full price, and doesn't include splitscreen play with a friend, and it only offers 3 gameplay modes and all of them are team modes?

I think it's outrageous they couldn't give people some more options, some solo deathmatch modes, etc., if they insist on charging full price with no offline story or split screen play. This is not a full game in my opinion in any stretch of the imagination. And I don't want to hear that split screen is offline so they couldn't do it - there are other games where you actually play on Live when you are playing split screen with a friend.

Halo 2 and Halo 3.  Sure Halo 3 isn't out yet, but it can def. be done.  If you pay $60 for an online multiplayer game only, you would expect some nice features, which is something Shadowrun doesn't provide.

^^^ So does cod3 in player matches I believe. Anyway, I haven't played shadowrun yet (wasn't in on the beta) but imo there is no way this game is worth $60. Only 9 maps, no "real" single player, no leader boards, only 3 game modes, and the list goes on and on.

Have you tried it?  I have... I was in the beta, and I gotta tell you I disagree with you.  It's superb, despite these limitations you list here.  I understand why you are skeptical, but after my time with the game, I am more excited about playing Shadowrun online than I am about Halo 3s online by far.  It's the deepest, most fun online experience yet on 360.  I think a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surpised with this game.

It being a full priced game isnt a problem for me. There are a lot of full price games that own and I only play the online MP modes. And I have paid full price for a lot of crappy games too so if Shadowrun is great I have no problem paying $60 for it.

They actually have it balanced out real nice. If you go and move the mouse quickly like you do in PC FPS, then your accuracy lowers alot. You have to make small movements.

It's my understanding that all console games experience this phenomenon.  The devs have to pay the hardware manufacturer, exclusivity contract or no.

They actually have it balanced out real nice. If you go and move the mouse quickly like you do in PC FPS, then your accuracy lowers alot. You have to make small movements.

What if I wanna play it without cross platform, just against PC users? Is the movement still ****** then? The balencing is fair but I probably won't be getting cross platform and I don't want my movement screwed up like that.

And the reason its $10-£10 cheaper on PC is because they don't have to pay Microsoft games division for royalties. In fact PC games developers get paid by Microsoft to put Games for Windows on certain PC games, or so I've heard.

I read a rumor a couple months back that Fasa Studios (Shadowrun developers) are on the verge of being closed down.  The fact that Shadowrun appears to be an unfinished product (lack of single-player, only 9 maps, no split-screen, and only 3 modes) seems to give creidbility that the developer is in trouble and Microsoft is just releasing what has been completed.

Seriously, Shadowrun looks like a shell of a game.  If a developer is releasing a multi-player only, thats fine, but looking at games like Huxley, which are a presist MMO first-person shooter or Halo 3 and UT3 which will have dozens of maps and game modes.  It really makes Shadowrun weak.  The only good thing Shadowrun has is AI controlled bots, but PDZ had bots, more maps and game modes.  So meh to Shadowrun.

Not everyone has Halo 3 or UT size budgets and development teams. Saying that everyone should match that is like saying the every film maker should deliver WETA studios quality special effects in all there movies. Not ever film maker has that ability or team so they focus on what they are good at. If you don't have all the resources its better to be focused. I disagree with what you say about shell of a game, as far as the game it is (online team shooter) it looks to have everything plus more. The more being the crossplatform games, magic abilities, halo like matchmaking and bots. If your a online shooter fan wouldn't you take a quality balanced online team based shooter over a game with weak SP and MP. The downside to shadowrun is that it has to go up agianst halo 3, MS would of done better to announce the Halo3 release date after shadowrun released.

Yea, I to read that Fasa Studios is being shut down, sorry no link.

This should be a $20 download off of XBLA not a full price $60 game.

Wait until this game gets reviewed....  I guarantee it'll be 9+.  My friend was in the beta and said it was the most fun he's had in a MP since the original Halo.  He also said the game is way deeper than everyone thinks it'll be.  You wait and see.

wow that's lame.  I hear it costs $10 more for 360, would be nice if people could have said they got split-screen with it seeing as it's 100% multiplayer.  Halo gives a huge amount of multiplayer options and it has split-screen, while still giving a great singleplayer experience.  Many games out there do better than shadowrun and shadowrun is supposed to be only a multiplayer game... how stupid.

[QUOTE="ihateyou_right"]

what three modes are included??

GungraveZero

im just guessing, but isnt it like training(a.k.a. the 3 level single player that is seriously JUST training), CTF. and team deathmatch? again, this is just what im assuming

No. The three game modes are all connected with the CTF-type game mode. In one mode a team will be defending an artifact while the other team must grab the artifact and extract it at a certain point on the map. Another game mode is basically CTF with the artifact. And the third game mode has the person who possesses the artifact able to see where the other team is, so he can call his enemies out. I think this last mode is a Team Deathmatch, but I am not certain.

When I purchased my 360 I figured it was going to have some great games and it does, but the only real reason it exists is so Microsoft can push their xbox live 'service'.   If you just step back for a second and actually look at the lineup of games for the 360 it's heavy on multiplayer.  They are taking out co-op and system link and slowely but surely leaving you with a paltry single player campaign and live only.

Would it be better if it was $50.00 for a $10.00 difference? Come on are people really that picky or are they just cheap?

That 10 dollar difference shouldnt be there since MS is making the game.  Anyway, it doesn't have offline support?  This game pretty much is a ripoff.  Now the 360 has a hyped up shallow game like Motorstorm.  Thanks a lot MS.

I am sure the game can be played offline with bots. It is probably similiar to Battlefield 2142 and Unreal Tournament since they are focused on online play. I bought battlefield 2142 for Pc and it was 49.99 but I am not the kind of person to complain about price.

Becuase co op is the future of videogames.  The only reason I even buy a game now is for the coop, otherwise I would spend the 8.50 and rent it from blockbuster and beat it in 2 weeks.

And I don't want to hear that split screen is offline so they couldn't do it - there are other games where you actually play on Live when you are playing split screen with a friend.

cougar65

wait a minute, your telling me theres a game for 360 where u can play split screen on live with a guest. Really. I was pretty sure no game on 360 allowed guests. This is something that was prevalent on the original XBOX, but I've yet to see it this generation

?????

I'd say like 75% of games allow guests for ONLINE!!! Have you been living under a rock? Geow, PDZ, Halo 3, EVERY SPORTS GAME.... yes you've been living under a rock.
