This game is still one of the better online FPS imo of this gen. Not the best but very unique and one of the top 3 or 5 imo.

The gameplay is just so much fun, so many posibilities with all the stuff you can buy in the game and the ability to play with friends on the PC and 360 version is great. Its to bad that Shadowrun didnt do better in sales because I for one would LOVE another game!

I still play this game a few times each week and its still just as much fun imo.

What is everyones thoughts on Shadowrun if youve played it?
I personally thought the game would be bad before it was out, but I got Forza2 the day they both came out and saw Shadowrun there also and htought "why not? Lets take a gamble". Im glad I picked it up because its a very nice online experience this game.

It kind of reminds me of Counterstrike (the buying of weapons before each round with money you won from round before), Team Fortress2 and an older game caleld Tribes. Also has its own unique things to.

Anyone else a fan of this game? I know there is still a good solid smaller base of players who still play this game alot. Wondering how many fans on gamespot though.

If anyone wants to play some Shadowrun sometime feel free to add me to your friends list. I had the game on 360 since it came out, but I just lent it to my cousin so we could play with each other on the game (I just got the PC version for 4$ the other day). More games should have XBOX360 and PC players playing together or against each other imo, it worked great in this game.

After a few hours of this game last night, my cousin was blown away at how fun this game was and how it didnt sell more copies (If only they would have done more commericals and ads.. and also made it so the game could be played on Windows XP aswell as Vista.. because people didnt like Vista then and didnt want to buy Vista just for shadowun because vista was not very good when it first came out.

Anyways, just a little appreciation thread for Shadowrun!

I love this game, and I think it is very popular, as I get into full games all the time, and I almost have all the achievements for it.

Eternal-Entity

Yes there is never any issues finding a game, but its not very popular compared to others games.

Its never been in the top 10 most played xbox games, it didnt sell well and people dont seem to talk about it as much as other games ):

As I said in my first post, there is a nice small community that LOVES this game and keeps the game going, with people to play with.

But by saying "I wish it was more popular" I meant I wish as many people played it as Halo or COD games and that it woudl have been popular enough to sell alot of copies and warant a sequel.

Instead of just 100 or so people at a time online, I wish there was a few thousand or a million your know?
I just have so much fun on this game, I would have been nice to see the makers make some money and be able to make a sequel instead of flopping in sales.

The makers also said they were thinking abotu doing some DLC for the game but that it wasnt popular enough and didnt sell enough. Then not long after that they got fired ):

A game like this that took so many chances deserves to do better imo is what i was trying to say.

One more thing... the community is great in this game... when compared to other shooters imo. The people who do play the game alot are usually nice and pretty chill, not much cursing or loud screaming, its a nice change from other xbox games online imo. Anyways, hope to maybe see you online some time bud.

This game is pretty cool. Yea, if they updated the servers, and more people were online. this would be a classic.

I actually played it a good bit before the all the big titles released last year. My friends got me to pick it up and I was pleasantly surprised after I got the hang of it. Definitely one of the more unique shooters out there.

Tried the demo and thought the game was good but the reason I didn't buy it was because there wasn't split screen.

You can get it dirt cheap nowadays, why not pick it up again? I love shadowrun, too. It's one of the most underrated games on the 360, in my opinion. Considering how cheap it is now, theres no reason for anyone not to own a copy. Definitely a really unique FPS and lots of fun to play with friends.

I wish it had a single-player like the original one on the Super Nintendo.

i have this game but never played it much because im terrible at it. it definitely is very unique but i think it didn't sell very well because it doesn't have a single player campaign, it's too different from the original, and the learning curve is quite steep

i liked it alot i still play every once in awhile my problem was finding a good team i mean most people are just horrible at the game and most refuse the rez teamates which is probably the most important aspect of the game.

Got it when it first came out, definitely worth the original price. Too bad the studio shut down though, I would have welcomed some DLC with open arms.

I bought it when it first came out but I stopped playing it shortly after because of all the achievement whores filling every game. It completely ruined the game for me. I remember one game I had. Everyone was dead except for one person on each team. They weren't playing properly. They were helping each other get the achievement where you block sniper shots with the sword. I just wanted the next round to start. Instead I had to sit there and watch these two people try to boost achievements. There are some things I hate about online gaming, Shadowrun features all of them in spades.

I've got the game for PC and Xbox 360. It is a pretty good game. The biggest reason the game failed was price. Nobody wanted to buy a multiplayer only game for $60. The game should have launched at $40.

Hmmm, I might have to get this game a look. I can't say no to a good multiplayer that I can play with the buds. And since it's an older title, I can probably get it for practically nothing.

i played it for a few months when it first came out for 360....after i got rid of it i never really wanted it again. Plus i paid full price for it when it came out and I doubt any new content has come out for it on top of it not even having a campaign.

Oh man, I got it when it first came out. My favorite FPS ever... Call of Duty 4 comes in second here. I most have played well over 700 matches, I have 1000/1000, and well... Elfs for the win. I tried as hard as I could to get anybody I knew into that game, and me and all of my friends on Xbox played it together. As a mater of fact, I meet most of my Xbox LIVE friends on Shadowrun and two years later we still play together. (Currently we are playing Halo Wars and waiting for Bioshock 2)

Good times... Good times... Shadowrun also had the best pistol of any game ever. Ever.

By the way, I was looking at Bioshock 2 and it just reminded me of shadowrun. If anybody is interested in a similar looking game.

It was done by Jordan Weisman and FASA interactive, has to be good.

Too bad his group was disbanded, could see a return if his new projects do well though.

Buy it again... you can get a used copy for a few dollars. I'll play with you! I think it's the best online team shooter ever made.

i loved this game when it first released....played it more than any other FPS this generation. However, after falling out of the game for a few months and going back later...i realized i could not compete with all the hardcore fans...i kept getting my butt handed game after game, so i gave up. If i kept up with it, i bet id still be playing it til this day.

haha, its so funny seeing the differnt combos people use on Shadowrun.

I gotta say that the Dwarves and Trolls make me laugh the most though. A big Troll with a Katana sword and GLider is hilarious to see 8)

Same with Dwarf with one of those big gatalin guns, the gun is bigger then him hehe :P

If anyone is looking to buy the game, check stores for used and new copies. Ive had the game for 360 for awhile, but I just gounf the pc versino for under 5$ new. So im sure you can find a 360 copy for around the same price maybe

I was the same way bud! But then I just got two freinds together who were brand new to the game and we just practised against bots for a good 2-3 hours and we all improved quite a bit. Give that a try! Might get you back into it!

hey fellow canadian =)

I had a copy but was damaged in a accident from the summer. if i come across a really cheap copy again ill buy it....playing against bots alone is worth $5. Hell, If i knew the community accepted "newbies" still....id trade in my copy of MW2 for it easily.

It's too difficult of a game for people to play which is why it was never popular. It's not a game you can just pick up and play and get kills easily. It takes a lot of awareness, skill and intelligence to play which is something that hasn't been done this gen.

Also, the private matches with bots is severely underused and not appreciated enough. I've tried to get people into this game and when they complain that it's too hard to get into, I tell them to play against bots.

Playing against bots in this game is like playing against humans, you couldn't really tell the difference. It's not like Gears of War 2 bots, where even on Expert it's a joke.

This is my favorite multiplayer game this gen, I really hope a Shadowrun 2 can be made someday, or at least something similar. Didn't ex-FASA guys create their own studio? It would be perfect, they already got a great formula, just a little tweaking and some new additions. Not sure how a campaign would work out though, so I'd rather they not waste time on it and just perfect the MP side.

Yup, the bots and there AI are great on Shadowrun. Also great place for new people to learn as you said. I just gave my cousin my copy of the 360 versino and got the pc version and to show him how to play the game we just did coop against some bots (p;

Ha..you would think SOCOM: Confrontation is the devils creation then.

Bronze trophies in SOCOM take longer than almost every achievement in Shadowrun (only a few standout like Godlike, Unstoppable and the one where you have to inflict 100 mortal wounds)
