Shivering Isles over-priced?

So its official, release date is March 27, and its going to cost not 2000 Microsoft points which is $30, but rather 2400 Microsoft points, for a download. The PC version will be $30, and you get a cd case and everything where the 360 is just a download. What are your thoughts?

I dont know...20 hours of my life and 250 achievement points... or 30$.... I have some thinking to do...ok done I am buying it

i dont think its over priced... your essentially buying half a game with the 20 or 30+ plus hours of gameplay so 30 bucks is about right.... every expansion ive ever seen usually retails for 30 or 40 bucks. im going to be buying it.

Its a huge expansion pack though, if you ever played a game like World of warcraft, you pay 15 a month for a minimal expansion. Warcraft 3, Frozen thrones expansion was 50 bucks. Yea ill buy it. Most expansions generally cost as much or a bit less then the original, this costs half of what the original game costed.

2000 MS points is $25.00 which is less than $30.00 2400 MS points is 30.00 do the math. 1 MS poin = 0.0125 cents.
Here is how you figure it a 1600 point card is $20.00. $20.00 divided by 1600 points = 0.0125 cents. So 2000 points * 0.0125 = $25.00 and 2400 points = $30.00

Both are going to be $30.00 only there is no tax paid on the download if you use your credit card instead of buying a prepaid card. Either way for the amount of in-game content you are getting its worth it.

I'm still trying to figure out if it's going to come with all the little extras they've been selling. A long time ago I heard it did, but I haven't heard anything on the subject lately.

I will, but probably in the summer, after I've bought some of the big games still to come out in the next couple of months like Guitar Hero, Forza, and Mass Effect. I want Shivering Isles, just not enought to pass up those games.

I think it is over-priced... why do i think that? I will tell you.

If digital distribution (Marketplace) didn't have as much to it or wasn't so good like on the Original Xbox then all the previous content (before Shivering Isles) would be placed into this expansion and would still sell for the same price. Now why would i want to spend $30 on something that essentially could be less with the lack of content. Now i am not saying Shivering Isles doesn't have content i am just saying it does not contain what it truly would have without an improved Marketplace (and the though of digital distibution over the internet for PCs).

Now i love Oblivion and i would love to have Shivering Isles i think i can live without it. All that i hope is that one day they do what they did with Morrowind. They made it have the GOTY edition which included all the expansions. While you may say they won't do this, i still think there is a chance. I mean once the game stops selling as much they can increase the price of the GOTY for $50 (once Oblvion has settled at $20 which it should eventually do unless they settle at $30 now which would be complete bullsh**). While there is a great chance they will not do this i won't get upset because then i know i will have saved atleast some money for the next ElderScrolls.

you are wrong 2000 points is 20 dollars not 30. the expansion is 30. no one complains and *****es when an expansion for the computer game is 30 dollars. Oh you get a CD case! like you really care? no you dont, its just a reason for people to brag because they have to go out and buy it and 360 owners can just dl it. you get it on YOUR account. FOREVER, NO MATTER WHAT.

I got 1600 pts for $5 at best buy awhile back I've been holding onto...so it wont cost me as much!

I agree...except $20.00 MS point cards only give you 1600 points and a 2000 MS point card is $25.00 but your closer than he is :P

I just dont see the problem with dl'ing it. It is your to keep forever. there is really no point to bragging rights with things like this as far as having a hard copy goes.

$30.00 isnt anything anymore, most americans spend more than that a week just on Ass wipe every week.

20-30 hours of gameplay for $30.00 is a great deal. Gears was $60.00 and its single player was only 12 hours long. it had multiplayer but that got old quick.

Oh man. You have rejuvenated my week with three little words . . . in the summer. I cannot wait for summer. I have so many games to beat and so much time to spend with my girlfriend and so much school to not attend in the summer. I cannot wait. I'm probably feeling this overwhelming feeling of swamped-ness because I have midterms in 12 hours, and I am cramming - or maybe because two girls in my life are on their periods and one is pregnant and I am soaking up all of those horrible hormones - but nonetheless, you have made my night, and week. Thank you for doing something you never intended to do. YEAH SUMMER!!!
