I am a cheap gamer. I don't play for the second run throughs or achievements. I play just for the main campaign, and that's it. (nope, don't have a Gold account either) After shelling out 30 bucks for Gears of War 2, which I then beat in 2 days (about 8 hours in total), I realized that I should seriously start renting games to save some cash. So: Do you know which high-scoring games (say 80 or above on metacritic) are beatable in 1 weekend? (my limit is somewhere from 12-14 hours)

Well Dead Rising is very short if you don't go for the achievements and extra stuff. It is only six hours.Oh and the game is pretty good too.Problem is,you will not get the most out the game if you just rush through it.

why would you want a short game? Most people now adays are looking for games with lengthy campaigns and a lot of replay value. You would probably spend a lot more money on rentals if you got one once a week or so then If you just bought a new game once in a while.

I rented Fable II and got a lot out of it in a couple days, although it is not short. Also RE5 has an amzing campaign that can be beat pretty quickly. Has a ton of replay value though.

It's more normal for games to be around eight hours long these days. I recently played the 50 cent game, HAWX, and Crackdown and none last more then eight hours. Whats worse is that HAWX is more like five hours and the 50 cent game can be done in four with a friend even on hard.

if you want to buy a game thats worth the money you should get fallout 3. it took me 80 hours my first play through to beat it. then i made another account to finish up some of the quests i couldnt do before plus achievements and that took me like 40 hours... so ive probably put 120 hours or more into this game and i still havent done everything there is to do.
