Today I went and tried to get a Nintendo Wii.  I went 1 hour before the store opened(9am), and the line up was around the corner, furthermore the store only got 20 and they were sold out 6am.

Fustrated about not being able to partake in the Next Gen Nintendo celebration,  I bought a 360 instead.

Now I feel guilty like I betrayed, my best friend, I still got my DS but a console is different.

As a result I haven't opened the 360 yet(once u open u cannot return) because I want to be sure.

I need honesty from u 360 heads out there.

Would you have rather get a Wii instead?

Who has played both and made a decision?

Are there any 360 owners that were once Wii owners? Why?

I'm sick of the tech reviews, I need real input from real players.

If anything the Wii is a dissapointment. I used to be a Nintendo fanboy, then I grew up bought a 360 and am never going back.

I have a 360 and a Wii. I play the 360 all the time, Xbox live is an amazing online system. The Wii hardly ever gets used. I might occassionaly play Wii sports with some friends. 360 has more and better games, now and in the future.

Do you think it was Money well spent? What about the whole "Microsoft world dominance" thing? Worms, Viruses, Trojans? Does it have to updated like my PC, God I hope not?

the nintendo wii's alright but its nothing compared to the 360. You'd have to be stupid to bring it back for a wii

Keep the 360 bro... the Wii can wait - you'll get more use out of a 360 than a Wii

and on updates.... its updated less than the PS3. Its only updated really twice a year mostly for new features.

Definantly. Gears, Obvlion, Dead Rising, R6 Vegas, any of those games (expically Obvlion) will keep you busy while Wii's get more plentifull and or you save up another $250. There's no law that says you can't have both and there are enough unique games on both platforms to warrent having both. It probably seems like a ton of money to spend on something you didn't even plan on getting, but I think as time goes on you'll be happy you did.

i played the wii at ebgames, the 360 and wii are both essentials, just take whatever you can get first. the 360 is in easy supply and you won't have to worry, have fun finding another wiii. just keep the 360 because wiis are too hard to find. actually, put it this way: if you can get xbox live, keep it. if you can't, return the 360. problem solved.

well the nintendo wii your kind of going into kind of more of the kidish games like once in a while you may get thrown at a good game like mario glaxy for example. But the contoler and you get a gun too but the thing is that the games it self is important and with out good games you wont have a good feel for the system. So the 360 is in my case it has alot of first-person shooters and also the gta will be on it. So the 360 is going to be your favorite ................

OK man, I'll give you the short answer then the long answer. Short answer: OPEN IT Long answer, read on... I sat outside of my local target for 13 long hours on November 18, the day before the Wii launch. My friend was going to get one, and I was just short of money to pick one up myself, but I decided to tag along anyway. Feeling bad for me, I was lend some money and we were first and second in line to get one. Fast forward to the second week of Janurary. A man walks up to the front door of my house, I open it. He gives me $260 in cash and I give him my Wii, completing a week long Craigslist battle to get rid of the damn thing. I use the money to get a 3360, and I haven't looked back since. The Wii sat on my shelf collecting dust since like 3 days after I got it. IF you're a hardcore gamer, the Wiimote just gets old after awhile...its, at least right now, mainly either being used as A) a gimmick B) a control method that hampers the experience, or C) control method for really shallow, repetitive software. I used my 360 more in a week then I did the whole time I had my Wii. Trust me, the 360 was a much better choice, stick with it

First of all, everyone on the 360 board is of course going to say ''keep your 360''. Second, it entirely depends on what kind of games you like. I'm not even going to go into specifics about this anymore, since this is pretty obvious. And finally, the Wii is so damn cheap, the best way to go would be to keep your 360 AND buy a Wii when you actually manage to find one. Problem solved...

I played the Wii at a friends house, hated it. I think its a console made specially for the 0-12 age group. My friend was pretty exited showing me wii sports and madden 07 and I was like: Ok, yeah, whatever. Couple of days later he went to my house (he had never seen a 360 before), I showed him GRAW and then we went to the computer and I showed him the graphics on MLB 2k7 (he's a big sports fan). After that he was like: damn, why did I buy this piece of sh**. IMO the Wii got stuck in the past. If you want to tell me the control is really cool, please don't, I felt pretty stupid using the control like a golf club. I'm not telling you to get a 360, but if you want to go next gen get one of the other 2 consoles.

this really isn't the best place for a non biased answer..  just ask yourself if theres any games out now, or on the horizon of the 360 that interest you

Well there will probably be some bias because you are asking opinions in the 360 forum and you'll probably get bias in the Wii forum, so I will try to be unbias as possible. The 360 is a great system especially for the online experience. Its pretty cool to play against people all over the country with anytype of genre. I served active duty army a while back and I still keep in contact with my buddies with the 360. I can talk to them in a chatroom and play whatever game we want. The Wii is a great system, I played it a few times because my friend has one. I think that the controls are definitely for the next gen. Playing Wii sports was really cool, but some of the shooting games take time to control. Anyways, the problem with the 360, is that you are better playing it on HD to get the full experience. The controls are obviously different, and internet does come with a price. You also need ethernet or cable internet to play. The Wii is more of a party system. Its fun playing with friends especially if your drunk. The first three days are pretty cool playing the system, but it gets pretty boring when you play by yourself. Again some of the games are pretty difficult to conrol and it takes time getting used to. I hope this was unbias for you, and I hope you choose the best console for your preference.

i honestly have to say that the Nintendo Wii i had high hopes for. After finding out i couldn't get my hands on one i became jealous a bit and kept thinking i was missing out on a great nex-gen console. But after playing a few games at some events i went to, i realized it was nothing exciting. The hype was too high and I had already bought a 360 ...so in the end i was happy with the fact that i could give the xbox360 100% attention. In your case i would keep the system.

Get the Wii also and you'll be satisfied. No one can tell you whether you made the right purchase or not, we're all happy with our 360s.

The 360 is awesome, it's a purchase you'll never regret. And it'll get even better with all the awesome games coming out this year (Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, etc.)

I have been using my 360 for a week, and I truly have no regrets. The games are so immersive and detailed, and thats all good...but...what about those fun (some call them kiddie) games like mario(party, bros, cart), is that something I will never see again. Thats unfortunate because over the years I've grown used to playing them every now and then....and they're really fun.

I have played both, and the only way I would ever own a Wii is if I had children, or I had a lot of friends over to play party games. I really don't like the Wii at all for myself, and I have never liked the controller, even in its concept stages. I still think it is a good console for others though.

Well just wait till Nintendo drops the price...Methinks by this Christmas even, either the Wii or the DS, possibly both will get a price drop. Honestly after Zelda, I have not touched my Wii since. The only thing I MAY be able to play it for is Tales of Phantasia or something I forgot the name, but its recommended, and it was on the Gamecube. Wii is fun for the 20-30 minutes you play it after Zelda. It would probably be a lot better if Wii sports had online play. Wii is for kids, and people that like Mac's (ahaahahah, sorry)
