Should external hard drives be made for the xbox360?

Seeing as there is not enuff room to store games and other things on your 120 GB hard drive. Wouldn't it make sense to actual make external hard drives for the 360?

Someone told me before that it's not good to run games from an external hard drive. Not sure how it would work though

I would probably have to be done through a firewire or eSata port, of which the 360 doesn't have.
