Yeah both are great systems and the RROD thing has dropped alot since the new consoles have came out.

PROS: good online, vibration, great selection of games and more

CONS: High failure rate

Why buy core? Get pro at least. Well, that is if you want to play xbox live.

Are they even making the cores anymore just by themselves? Or is it just the new arcade bundle?

If you are going to buy a 360 spend the extra money. You will get a better deal. Xbox live isn't the same without a mic. You can't save games with the core unless you go buy a memory card. It's a lot better. The 360's online is better than the ps3, the games are better and the dashboard is a way better interface. Just my opion though.

Although i own 360 only and i believe 360 is better

i say no...it has high failure rate, we bought 4 360's(me and my friends)

2 of them got RROD and we got them in end of 2006, that is a whole year after the 360 was realesed

i hear they are making new 360's with hardly any rrod, so i will wait for thatone

specially if i have ps3...

Well we are in the 360 forum for crying out loud. What kind of answer do you think you'll get? ;) Having said that, I'm going to go against the grain and say no. Since you already have a PS3 you will get the multi-plats so you're basically covered there.

If you want the full spectrum of games I would suggest a Wii to go with your PS3 because then you will be able to play the great Wii exclusives as well like GOTY Super Mario Galaxy and other unique games that you can't get on 360/PS3/PC. Thats my two cents worth hope it helps.

Should you buy an Xbox 360?

well buying 1 is better then stealing it.

Yes you should buy a 360. they are great. the RROD. maybe a design fault but it doesnt help that a lot of users put them in cabinets or on carpet which helped heat them up. Microsoft has honoured warranty on all consoles that display this problem, even consoles with the warranty sticker removed. eg modded consoles.

the games are great. plus if you have ps3 then you get all the exclusive games that are worth playing on a console.

The whole red ring thing is overhyped, keep it ventilated and you will be fine. I know lots of guys that have both and they all like XBL better.

about red rings

actually my xbox lived quite well and it survived some electricity shutdown and i thought i was lucky my

xbox doesn't suffer from a fault...with all these shutdowns i thought it would blow up

but i got them from some silly thing

i was doning background downloading of a demo game, and I hit eject to get a game out to play

at my friend's place...and there it was...i cant understand how this caused red lights....and electricity shutdown not

In a nutshell yes. I also own a ps3 (and a wii for that matter) but with all the excellent shooters (on top of the 360 having a better fps controller) I just had to buy one. But spend the extra cash. Cores (or Arcades as they are now called) don't come with hd cables or a hard drive. Thats a $140(if you buy microsoft brand) value for only $70 more (arcade = 279.99 pro = 349.99). The hard drive alone is $100. So buy a pro (or go all out and get an elite).

You should buy a 360 if you enjoy shooters. I just got my PS3 Friday for the exclusives and Blue Ray player. Go with the 360 for the exclusives that are readily available for you. There are plenty to purchase in case there's a summer drought period like last year. I have core 360 - go with the Pro version if you plan to download demos/live. Don't make the mistake I've done by buying the core - then later buying the 20GB HDD, mic, wireless controllers.. Don't worry about the RROD - you have your trusty PS3 to hold you over while your 360 is in repair lol...
