Sure, it has a massive library already and more games coming out this year. You'll have plenty to play.

It shouldn't matter if a new XBOX is announced because it's gonna be aleast a year or more before it actually comes out.

i think the xbox 360 is supposed to have a lifespan to 2015, so if you want one you may as well go for it rather than wait.

Like what a lot of people have been saying, buying an Xbox is probably worth it. You can buy a vast amount of great games for low prices nowadays, and the 360 still has a few years ahead of itself.

For under 200$ you'll get a system that will last you at least 3 to 4 more years. I think that's pretty good. OOOOOR you can wait for this "announcement" and not buy one. Of course an announcement doesn't mean anything in terms of the actual product coming out. In that case no gaming for you for another 3 years. You might be a bigger man for it but I don't think I could be that patient. I'd just buy one now. Oh and for future purposes, I don't think this board is for asking people if we think you should buy a 360 or for this or that game. Recommendations are stickied at the top of the page if you need any.

TC, I was in your position not long ago. I only owned a Wii and was worried about getting an Xbox because I thought the new one might come out soon. Just get one! I got mine for Christmas and as you know (since you said you owned one before) its obviously better than the Wii. The sooner you get it the more play time you will get. FYI, if you are in it just for Halo spare yourself the disappointment. Reach is not that great.
