No, you shouldn't. I suggest getting the 4gb Xbox 360 slim.

No, do not buy Arcade. Start with the 4gb model (slim) or 250 GB slim.

Do not waist your money on a useless (no harddrive) and old (we got Slim now) technology.

He's looking for a cheap console, the 4GB should do it, provided he doesn't want to download games or install them.

If you are an avid gamera console itself is no where to skim on!!! Although I bought the Xbox 360 arcade, I already had a HDD, which is extremely important to anyone who wants to play more then two or three arcade games.Of courseif you are a casual gamer who plays maybe one or two full games a year and maybe has younger aged kids (with a tight budget) the xbox 360 is a good machine. I bought mine nearly two years ago now and it has performed flawlessly. I have no idea how the new Xbox 360 slim arcade performs. All I know is that it looks great and has a different HDD then the older versions! Good Luck :)

I have been playing 360 games on USB stick 8GB and its enough for most games since all games are around 6.8 GB install size, with exception of Forza 3 and others which takes around 9GB let me tell you the transfer rate mentioned is rather marginal and it does not makes a difference. For me 4Gb model is a waste of money since you can't install any games my advice would be to get the arcade for 149 dollars even cheaper if you hunt around and invest in a hard drive look around for some used drive they are sold for quite cheap, and get 3 years warranty and if your console runs bad you will surely get the 360 Slim since the older model production is going to be closed down

i own an arcade. i think your best bet will be with the 4gb console. i bought my xbox 360 console in may last year so i was too early for the release of the 4gb. my arcade has a 256mb unit but i have actually struggled to fill that space however i am not on xbox live plus i accidently deleted my profile and deleted, but not by accident, my saved games. i haven't been able to update my system with the usb drive capability because of the disadvantage of having a memory unit.

happy gaming.

Oh heck no man heck no, dont buy no arcade. Buy the newer models such as the elite or the 250 GB Slim. Also, dont bother with no 4GB Slim just get the 250 GB model because 4GB Is not enough space.

If you buy all these older models then the more risk of you getting red ring of failure, so dont buy that junk. Get either the elite or the slim, the chances of being overheated is around 0-10%.
