Awhile ago I bought an xbox but returned it of fear that it will get die on me. A few months ago I read new xbox will be manufactered that will havea newer chip. It being like 2-3 months now, I wanted to checkif these new xboxs have been out?

Or should I purchase a PS3(I know this is the xbox forum so all of you will say "NOO!!") and get the Xbox in a couple of months later because I will be buying both eventually.

wow you returned your xbox that was working perfectly fine because you "feared" that it would break down. well my car has been running a little slower lately. maybe I should return it because it might break down on me. but in all seriousnes, now is the time to get an xbox.

Either one. These ps3 has a nice library of 1st party games, and so does the 360. They also share many multiplats. Either way you will be happy

why would you return something from fear of it dieing? Wouldnt you wait until it dies and why did you buy it in the first place.

If you plan on getting them both, it really doesn't matter. Get the PS3 now and then wait for the new 360 to avoid your fear of it breaking down. That makes sense.

This is probably your best shot. This is what I'm doing, I'm gonna get me a PS3 then maybe later down the road get a new 360 maybe.

I've had a "Falcon" model Xbox 360 Elite since May, and haven't had a single problem with it. It has the new CPU, more heatsink fans, and a quieter hard drive than older models. In all honesty, my 60 gig launch PS3 throws more heat than my 360; a lot more, actually. The new "Jasper" motherboard models were supposed to be released in the fall, so I believe all the new 60 gig 360's should be Jaspers. The horror stories of the RROD on the 360's were mostly in referrence to older models (at least 1 1/2 years ago or more). The Falcons and Jaspers shouldn't give you any problems, so pick one up anytime when you find a good price. I would advise you to never buy a used or refurbished 360. Buy one brand new from EBgames or Wal-Mart. Other than that, you should be okay. As far as trying to decide between the 360 and the PS3, it's simply a matter of preference. Fanboys will try to steer you one way or the other, but as someone who's been playing games for over 25 years, either one or both would be a great purchase. I generally buy respective exclusive games for both systems, and buy multiplatform games for the 360, because they generally turn out better on the 360, and because I can borrow/swap games with my friends who own 360s. None of my friends have PS3s, but they are still worth buying for the Blu-ray player, which is widely considered to be the best one on the market, because of exclusive firmware updates available on the PSN, and also for the PS3 exclusive games. Anyone who tries to tell you that the PS3 has no good games is probably a Microsoft employee who thinks Bill Gates needs to own everything, or just a stupid 12 year old fanboy trying to piss people off, because he's a stupid 12 year old. Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Valkyria Chronicles, Resistance 1 and 2, Little Big Planet, and Metal Gear Solid 4 are all must have games, and there is little doubt in my mind that God of War 3 will be just as awesome. If you plan to spend a lot of time doing online gaming, Xbox Live is probably better, but will also cost you $50 a year. If you plan to own only a handful of games, and want to spend your life owning noobs in Halo 3, then by all means do so. I personally, aside from World of Warcraft, spend very little time in online gaming, since I own 69 games, many of which are long RPG's or open world games, and I spend my time playing the single player or co-op campaigns, or the occasional split screen offline deathmatch with my friends at my apartment. If I ever feel the need to play online shooters, I can play on the PSN or on pc for free. I would rather spend the $50 on a new game, a ticket to see Cradle of Filth, or on a hot babe, and not necessarily in that order;) One thing that is worth mentioning, is that Xbox Live often restricts new demos to Gold members only, but they're immediately available free of charge on the PSN. If you plan on only having one system, can't afford lots of games, and don't have an HDTV to utilize Blu-ray movies, then I would recommend the 360 and the Xbox Live Gold membership, as it usually has better quality 3rd party games, and has better online services, so you can spend all day playing Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and Gears of War 2, fragging every angry, immature 12 year old on the internet. Hope this helps your decision.
