My friend said Gears of war 3 came out with few technical issues. The game play is butter smooth and does exactly what it's supposed to do. It also had a two in a half year development time with the full team of Epic creating it. And that's not all, he said Gears of war 3 is a spectacular conclusion to the series, and the general consensus is that it is far superior to its predecessor Gears of war 2. The reason being is first of all; its multi-player isn't utterly broken. It actually runs quite nicely; especially with the dedicated servers and polished game play mechanics. The SP has been touched up with a far superior story, as I stated previously. And 4 player co-op, with arcade and an even longer campaign. Not only that, but after all the additions to Gears of war 3. It adds beast mode, a cool off mode which breaks up bore a tenfold. Is all of this true?
I haven't touched it in a while due to just so many games out I've been playing, but just the other day I went back to play Horde with friends and this game is just too addictive to put down still.

The campaign is pretty good, Horde mode is a lot of fun, beast mode is nice every once and a while and multiplayer is ok, only ranked matches are on dedicated servers and even those are a limited number so there is still a lot of crappy inconsistancies and bs especially in non ranked matches which is strictly p2p.

Good to know people are enjoying it. I think I'll be getting it, even after Gears of war 2 was an utter failure.
If you didn't like Gears of War 2 multiplayer Gears of War 3 isn't going to change your mind. It's worth playing for Horde mode and co-op campaign, though. It's basically Gears of War 2 multiplayer with dedicated servers. Still expect to only use a shotgun and run around each other in circles while blindfiring your shotgun - that has never been fixed, and never will, which is disappointing because Gears of War 3 has so much potential.

That's why, I've got so many other games on my table. same here...its a great game, but honestly i havent picked it up in a while after beating the SP and playing a good little amount of MP. too many other great games out.
I would advise you to either borrow it or buy it used first to see if you like it, that way you can return it if you don't. I borrowed Gears 3 from a friend back in Oct and I swear the boredom literally gave me a headache, I couldn't stand any of it.
