People are telling me that I shouldn't give them my credit card , but can't i take out my credit card after I buy ?

It doesn't matter. It's not like they do anything with your credit card. Go for it.

doesnt microsoft own paypal?

if they dont, still go for it, I have my paypal account in xbox live and it has not been stolen

It makes no difference whatsoever whether you use a card or redeem code. Microsoft is much to huge for scams and the redeem codes have no benefit at all (unless you're talking about xbox live Gold membership cards, in which case look for the cards that say "12+1 month" for a better-than-online deal).

Yeah doing it on Xbox.com is safe. Only issue is that if you want to de-link your credit card from your account, you have to go through the process of calling Microsoft and having them do it for you. You can't just change a setting, or anything like that.
