I wouldn't trade in your old stuff unless you're absolutely certain you won't miss it. There are so many great games on the PS2 that you can get for cheap, so I wouldn't trade that in.
Local paper you would probably get the most money, but you have to wait awhile. Ebay might take a couple days to get money. Gamespot/EB fast but they rip you off, but sometimes if you trade in enough they might give a good discount. I would say take it to Gamestop/EB just to see what they offer you. If it isn't enough sell it in the paper or online.
sell it on ebay because gamestop is a rip off and it is ultra important that you get a service plan on the xbox 360 because they have a tendency to break alot
I think that if you have the money, then you should go for a PS3. Its only 100$ more than the 360 and you get way more features and just raw power. PS3 might look the same as the 360 now graphically speaking, but the PS3 has so much untapped power stored in it that in about a year when developers learn how to use it, you will see a HUGE differnce in graphics and size of game enviroments. Plus you get a Blu-ray disc player which is incredible to watch movies with. But I have a 360 too and if you like the games better on the 360 then go for it. But great games for PS3 are coming but right now Motorstorm and Resistance: Fall of Man are killer games to check out. If you want to get a PS3 or 360 do it at gamestop if you have a lot of stuff and do it on ebay if you have less stuff.
If you already have an ebay account and such, then sell it on ebay, but if you don't have an account or a credit card, don't bother, just trade it in. I say sell everything though, you won't need your ps2 when you have a 360. You won't get enough credit to fully buy the 360, but somewhere from $125-$200. Ebay will probably get you to just meet the price for a $399 360 plus a game.
It was not a hard descision for me. I love the 360 and so since I never played my ps2 and all it's games and other items I sold it to EB games to get more games and 360, get it now!
i traded in my gamecube and ps2 in november for a 360 and i dont regret it. i do miss playing some games like shadow of the colossus, okami, re4 and zelda windwaker. but i figure if i buy a ps3 or wii i can rebuy them for cheap anyways. do it!
I still use my PS2 for BIA gamesf as well as Timesplitters, COD 2 Big Red One (not so much anymore), the GTA's and a few others... But the 360 if worth it for sure
