I know, seeing as this is an X360 forum, obviously you'd recommend, but I'm seeking some help on this.

I own a PS3 which I got over X360 mainly because there were alot more games I was interested in, but getting an X360 has always been on my mind for one game specifically which I really want to play. But always thought just to play one game is ridiculous to buy a console. So, if I go ahead with this, I guess Ebay would be my best bet, unless there are going to be good deals seeing as Christmas is around the corner?
Also, with this console dominating in FPS (which I'm not a fan of), are there any good adventure/RPGs that haven't gone multiplat?
Thanks guys,

1. I wouldn't buy a 360 off Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I prefer the PS3 but there are some good games on the 360, most notable would be Mass Effect 1&2.

3. I'd wait till holidays, with both companies pushing motion controls and PS3 1 uping with 3D , you can bet Microsoft will do something to up seasonal sales, I'm guessing some bundles and another price cut.

4. I'm being nice even though I despise my 360, everytime I look at it I remember the 6 weeks I had to wait on my smoke residue covered replacement after the one I bought got RROD 5 months after purchase. Sure some get theirs alot quicker, it's just not something you easily forget.

Is it really that common for X360s having RROD? There are some resonable prices on ebay for 60GB which I reckon is all I need seeing as my PS3 will be my main console. Is that the lowest HDD size?

Yes, I would highly recommend a 360. I've had mine since January and I'm enjoying it immensely.

If you get one, stay away from ebay, because yes, they really do RROD quite a bit. The newer ones, even the old model arcade and elites are more reliable. If you can still find it, there was a Elite bundle with Halo ODST, and Forza for $249. Then you have a 3 year warranty against the RROD. You could also sell the games or trade them in if they are not to your liking.

Look, there are some good games on the 360 and you would probably enjoy it. Just clicking on the 360 forum you see a broken 360 thread version 3 I might add which should raise an alarm. I had a jasper elite which was supposed to be RROD free according to people in forums LOL. I'm sure it's not as common as the first 3 YEARS but hey to say you won't get it is absurd. There is a reason your seeing great deals on ebay. The 360 can be modded by flashing the DVD drive's firmware, something you want to be sure hasn't been done to the console you buy off ebay.

I would suggest you get the 360. I used to only play the playstation consoles, but when we got a 360 the control switch was surprisingly easy. Also, since you already have a PS3 if you get the 360 you won't ever get angry because a game you wanted isn't for the PS3.

the newer models are quite a lot better that the original. I got my first xbox and it lasted two years. they are constantly making improvements. the new jasper chipped models have a 3 percent fail rate and even then the microsoft warranty lasts 3 years for the new ones. I would never choose a ps3 over an xbox.

LMAO I'm on my first PS3 and 3 years and counting. I also love the numbers like 3% fail rate, you must work at Microsoft to have access to that information

My last four 360s were well ventilated, and they all RROD (well, except for one, which had a video card go out). Anyway, I find it beneficial to own both consoles just for the fact that you have access to both libraries of exclusives, and you can pick and choose which version of a multiplatform title to get. Some versions might perform better than others, and some versions might have exclusives the others done.

I prefer a Xbox 360 over a Playstation 3 any day. That maybe because I have never owned a Playstation 3. I love my Xbox. I would get an Xbox if I were you. But I would agree and wait until the holidays and buy the new slim. It will be so much cheaper and you can get them off the internet easily. I am selling my old first generation Xbox 360 and buying the slim this Christmas. But whatever your choice maybe, good luck.

Your asking if it's worth it ---- No, It's not If you got the extra money --- Sure go for it, why not have the best of both worlds just be sure you have an extra 60 for online play

Cheers guys. On second thought, I'll wait till Christmas and see if there's any good deals. Online play won't be an issue for me, as the games I'm into often don't support online play, and ofcourse, I've got my PS3 for that. ButI've also heard Microsoft are pushing prices up again for online function?

Please use the stickied Xbox 360 game recommendations thread at the top of the page for advice on what game(s) to get, which will also help you to decide if you want a 360 or not.

Thanks!
