I personally haven't played much WW2 shooters and i played the hell out of cod 4 so WAW is pretty refreshing for me.

it really depends how much youre gonna play over the summer. If you're gonna play a lot i would recommend buying it though be warned, it takes some getting used to.

I too will wait until Modern Warfare is released to see which one to get.

I have COD 4 & WAW I didn't like WAW. There's something in it that makes me lose interest in the game. Maybe it's the setting or the weapons?

I enjoyed WaW much more than MW. All depends on what you enjoy. Rent it and see what you think.

I hear what you're saying - I love both games, but I do prefer the grittyness that comes with a WWII shooter - Actually I can't remember the last time I played MW. I do have a scheduled vacation day set for 11/10/09 when MW2 comes out - reading a articlle in the new Game Informer magazine about it - November can't get here soon enough !!!!

I liked waw better then cod4, but it up to you, mw2 doesn't come out till november, that's a lot of time to wait....

Just get both. WaW is seriously awesome. Campaign won't hold you over for long, but the multi and Nazi Zombies will keep you playing for months.

skip WAW, it sucks IMO. I am SURE MW2 will be great!

I'd say get it. I wasn't going to but i was bored with my games so i decided to pick this one up for over the summer and it was definately a worthwhile buy. It takes a little getting used to but you'll definately feel right at home.

And it definately served the purpose i was looking for, which is the same as yours, it was refreshing.

Also a little brag, on MTD on Castle today i went 40 and 3, i was pretty proud of myself. ;)

Wait.. Cod WAW sucked.. and trust me cod 4 is still my favorite game of all time and i love the cod series but i hate WAW and imo treyarc sucks and should stop making call of duty games.. they are getting to be a disgrace to the series.

wait for modern warfare since all call of duty games are essentially the same game, once youve played one youve played the rest, which is why i skipped on waw also, modern warfare 1 is enough for me, i might get mw2 though because i loved the first one.

IMHO, WAW stinks. big time. The single player was great yeah, but the xbl stuff is awful. SO many terrible maps, so many cheap tactics...Everyone uses the same weapons because they are SO UNBALANCED. I hate WAW. after a few weeks with it, i went right back to COD 4.
