Should I get gears 2?

I just put in a preorder for gears 2 but I am not sure if I will enjoy it. I didn't play gears 1 so im not sure about gears 2. I have halo 3 and other fps games but i really didn't enjoy them. but since gears is a 3rdps i may think that i may enjoy it since i really liked re4 on GC.

What do you guys think?

If you liked RE 4 then you will love Gears 2 . Gears 2 seems like to be more in line with what you like to play

Rent it first. I rented thinking I would love but i hated it. Though i love halo 3!

Why did you preorder it anyway? Don't buy games you know nothing about only because other people hype them. If you can't stand FPS at all because of the controls then you won't like Gears of War either. The aiming and shooting mechanics are exactly the same.

It's really just a matter of time to get used to the controls though. I got my 360 a few weeks ago and I will always prefer mouse and keyboard but I learned to handle the gamepad good enough to enjoy the game. It only takes a few days of playing. I finished Gears of War 1 on casual and I'm now near the end on hardcore difficulty despite the fact that I couldn't hit a house when I started.

Just get the first one. It's pretty cheap now and worth a try.
