COD:Waw has nazi zombie mode. Anyway i'd say COD:Waw because Gears 2 is plagued with glitchers and quitters. At least in Cod you can join afterwards. It just matters what you like more research what the games have to offer.
they are both awsome games and expecialy great on live but i would rather get gears cause there are plenty of cod's and there is a cod modern warfare 2 comeing soon but you cant go wrong with either of them
this is a hard decision. gears of war has horde. cod waw has nazi zombies. i have both but i would tell you to get gears of war 2 good multiplayer and a great game enviroment. a little bull snot though playing multiplayer.
I can't decide for you... you seriously need to get both... so make yourself get both, but pick one first... I say pick Gears 2 first, then get WaW afterwards... seriously, you need to.
allright ya'll listen up and listen good. i own both games and they are good, i've been playing games for a fair while now and i can tell good from bad. gears of war 2 is a extremely good game one of the best that i have played thats for sure. World at war is exiting to play once but then you can lose intrest in it. but the thing is that you can get addicted to the game. if you have gears 1 and all the call of dutys' i say get gears 2 cause it has a better plot and more interesting characters i mean who doessn't like the cole train? serious though get gears two cause i love the game and i love my games and i know the good from the bad
I would have said World at War like a month ago, but now that Gears 2 is patched I'd say both games are about even. Personally I think Gears 2's campaign is better and it is longer. But Gears 2 only has 2-player co-op while World at War has 4-player co-op. And World at War has death cards that you can activate that change up how you play the campaign, similar to Halo 3's skulls. It also has a competive scoring system. As for their competitive multiplayer, World at War's is deeper with the kill streak bonuses, ranking, perks and what not. But Gears 2's multiplayer is far more balanced. Gears 2 has many more maps. As I recall World at War has eight maps. Gears 2 has ten on disc and if you get a new copy it comes with a code for the flashback map pack with is an additional five maps. Then theres also the Combustible map pack you can download off the market place. I'd say Gears 2's maps are much better designed. And for Game types I think World at War has few more, I'm not entirely certain. World at War's match making is much better than Gears's though. And both have a mode where players try to survive fighting waves of enemies. Gears' is horde where you fight alot of the Locust foot soldier from the campaign in multiplayer maps. World at War's is Nazi Zombie mode where you like in some building trying to fight off Zombies. I'd say Horde is better. You fight more intelligent enemies. It's less repetitive and you have all your multiplayer maps to play it on. Where as Nazi zombie currently only has one map. And you can have longer play sessions with Horde since in Nazi zombie by like wave ten there are so many Zombies moving so fast it's much more difficult to survive. And you can't pick up where you left off in Nazi zombie mode. If you lose, you start over. In Horde you can pick up from any wave you beaten and you can change the difficulty settings. Both are great games. Pretty even if you ask me. It really comes down to preferences. Do you prefer the Gears series or Call of Duty.
Wow, thats a tough one. Gears 2 single player is better, even though World at War's was a pleasent surprise. Gears 2 multiplayer though is terrible, while World at War's is solid and plays like COD4s which is good and bad. So with that being said, you choose. My vote though is Gears 2 only becuase single player is more important to me.

Agreed Gears could have been great but a few mp issues such as lag and a terrible matchmaking system along with the worst community of gamers to ever play a game make Gears 2 hard to enjoy
Gears Of War 2. Single player is great and multiplayer in the right conditions (little to no lag, no quitters, and some friends) and it's the best game online.
All my friends say online in Gears 2 sucks. And I didn't care for Gears 1 online either. Get CoD.

anyway, my pic is gears 2, beware a couple big gliches in there (anyone else notice that big lift on the way to the locust queens palace suddenly gain a 45 degree angle then have to kill themselves?) but all in all awesomeness, plenty of gore- makes you feel like a man like no other.
