Well I'm picking up an Xbox 360 Slim this week, (used to have one but it RROD like 2 years ago. Been a PS3 gamer ever since) mainly for the exclusives and I'm going to get a game with it. So I was just wondering whether I should get Gears of War 3 or the Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition first? I'll be getting both games eventually but I just need one at the moment to tide me over for a little while. Any suggestions?
Are you a serious RPG guy? I'm not, but I bought The Witcher 2 and didn't enjoy it. I always finish the games I buy even if I don't like them at first, but this one broke me lol. I don't think it fits the taste of a casual gamer like myself. I actually put it back in the case last night and am gonna trade it in today. Gears of War 3 is a great game, especially if you have a friend to play it with online.

Are you looking for a great MP exp or a great SP exp. Gears 3 does have great SP though fpr a shooter but of course it cant compare to an SP only RPG. Gears 3 will probably last you longer overall if your into the MP but the witcher 2 is an excellent game and you have to do multiple playthroughs to exp everything so you will get a good amount of playtime out of it.
There is no definitive answer though. Both are great games so its really just up to what your in the mood for.
The Witcher 2 is fantastic so far. But Gears 3 is the definition of a complete shooter. Great single player, top of the line co-op and multi player. If you like coverbased third person shooters, give Gears 3 a go first. It's the cheaper of the two anyway.
Dont know much about the other game, but.... Gears of War 3 - good campaign - 4 player coop, great beast mode(you are the enemies), fun horde mode with buildable defenses, for me fair multiplayer(can versus against bots or humans). Offers a lot, and has plenty of DLC maps and a DLC bonus campaign.
Apples and oranges, I'd say whichever genre you generally prefer. Shooters or RPG's? Single player or online/co-op focused games?
If you have some friends willing to go through the co-op with you, I heartily suggest Gears since the co-op is pretty great, though if playing alone TW2 is a better game.
