Get the Orange Box. COD 4 is a great game, but the Orange Box has a longer, funner campaign, team fortress 2, which is great, and portal is new and innovative. Its the best deal ever.

I personally enjoyed the Orange Box single player better then COD4 single player. The main thing that got me to love the Orange Box was Half Life 2 series and because I'm a big lover for story telling. The multiplayer though in COD4 is one of the best out there, Team Fortress is still great but I like COD4's multiplayer better. Overall I would go with the Orange Box, just because it has a great package of games but if you can I would get them both or get the other game later if you have the money.

Both very amazing games. Personally I like CoD4 much more because I love the customization of your own class, the massive community, and the competitive nature of the game online.

I say get which ever is cheaper, then raise some more money and buy the other.

I've got both. They are both very great titles, but The Orange Box is so worth your money.

Just wait for another price drop on COD4 while your playin TOB.

I have Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, and Portal on my computer.. so I went with Call of Duty 4. But if you haven't played any of the Half-Life games or Portal, then I'd say go for it!

CoD4 is awesome but Orange Box is better. It has a waaaaay longer single player when you add the 4 SP games on the disc together. CoD4 was way too short. And IMO, not being able to get multiplayer achievements in CoD4 is just stupid.

i liked cod4 more because i'm not that fond of the half-life series, but both are great. I got more into portal than half-life. Buy both over time, the cheaper one now - i bought ob used at gamespot 50 bucks

Any way you slice it, orange box is a fantastic deal. Though if you have a computer strong enough to run the games, I'd say save yourself $10 and get it for PC, or get it over steam for $37.50 now, unless you have some friends on XBL that you know have it as well.

Orange Box... all the way. Multiplayer is fun, but CoD4 campaign is painfully short. Hopefully they'll triple the longevity in CoD5.

I have and love both

the orange box is a better bargain, you can't argue with the amount of quality gametime included

but COD4 has my favorite MP and the SP is fantastic (though short; much more enjoyable on veteran)

i just finished cod4 SP. let me say both OB and cod4 have amazing single player. OB is more story driven, more about puzzle solving and interacting with the environment. its more emotional at times. cod4 is really intense and a lot more of a challenge. the areas are varied, as are the weapons (moreso than OB). i dont have live (yet) so my opinion doesnt include MP. if you want an amazing, cinematic masterpiece and a very innovative puzzle game, get OB. if you want intense action, variety, and a challenge, get cod4

Orange Box, it's too good a deal to pass up.

COD4 is excellent, too, though.

Both are AAA games. If you're hard up for cash, get Orange Box... you'll have plenty to play while you save for COD4.

CoD4 is only $40 at bestbuy, that should hopefully play a big role in your decision seeing as how CoD4 is the second best game to come out this year imo, OB is in my top five though.

I think it depends on you.

Cod 4 has a fun single player campaign, but it is mainly loved for its online features. Orange box on the other hand is excellent offline.

So if you prefer online - Cod 4, offline - Orange box.

Honestly it depends on how important online multiplayer is to you. That is the bottom line. COD4 has the best online experience out there with tons of variety and replay value. COD4's single player game is fantastic, but short. If you are more interested in single player experience and have never played Half Life before then the Orange Box is right for you. I honestly regret buying it because I had already beaten Half Life 2 on the Xbox and didn't really get much value out of the the episodic content. Portal is a cool game, but short and Team Fortress 2 is a solid online experience, but I prefer COD4 and even Halo 3 more for online play.
