I used to have a normal xbox360 (20 Gb) and it got E74 and the console was out of warranty so I didn't even bother fixing it , anyways I thought about buying a new xbox360 slim but I am afraid that it has the same problems as the older models , I heard that it is RRoD and E74 proof , is that true? and did anyone here on gamespot get any heating problems from there slim models?

thanks in advance.

well the new slims don't RROD since they don't have red lights. when they overheat, it shut down automatically to prevent further damage

I've had my regular, Pro Falcon xbox for ~2 years now, no problem so far. The Xbox 360 slim is even safer, so I'd say yeah, you can get it without running the risk of having it RROD or whatever.

I got my slim when they first released and I'm so much more happier with it. Mine is so quite I forget it's even on, and I have left it on for several days many times not realizing it. Dang.

It is hot on the outside, better than the inside I say! It just seems like a whole different animal to me.

I'd say your chances are just as good with it as with any other electronic in this day and age.

Yes, there are many different reasons why and your gonna have to be the one who decides on what reasons are right for you. The new Xbox 360 S breaths better and is much more quiet. If you go for the 250gb model you'll have so much memory you won't know what to do with yourself. I upgraded from a 120gb HDD and even I felt that way. Imagine how you would feel upgrading from only a 20gb. I bought the Halo Reach Ledgendary Edition console 2 days after its release. Lucky for me I found that Kmart had a few in stock. They were the last store I was gonna go to. The last 4 stores didn't even have a normal 250gb console i stock. Which was what I was really looking for. So I settled for the Halo Reach console because of the added bonuses you get like 2 controllers and a copy of Halo Reach. I figured its never a bad thing to have an extra controller handy. Also if you have Wifi the S comes with that built right in. I have actually posted a blog all about my Reach console if you really wanna know everything. But I hope this helps. The standard Xbox 360 S has Wifi built in also in case you didn't know.

Yea i think you should definetly upgrade to it. My old 360 RROD for the third time so i had to buy a new one. The Slim runs VERY quiet and is just all around better. Plus you get the 250GB HDD...

It is absurdly good. most 'slim' versions of consoles make minimal improvements. the 360 is the exception. and best of all imo its dead quiet
