My xbox got 1 rrod so i wasn't able to game for a whole week. A repair would cost $100, but i heard some people got their 1 ring repair for free. My options are to force my xbox to get 3 rings which voids warranty, or buy an xbox arcade and use my old hard drive or pay for the repair. If i get my refurbished xbox back, can it still get rrod or is there a lesser chance? Also i wont get an xbox slim because i'll save money for the new xbox 720 so i'll just get an arcade. My 12 months of live is pending right now but on phone, they said i would get a 1 month with my repair.

Who said there was going to be a 720? Microsoft wouldn't make a new console before 2015 also. I would suggest you get an arcade (Including some games if possible) and you would have a larger game library, and your 360 problems should be solved. However, if you want to save money, then you may want to force 3 rings but it might be risky, because I heard that microsoft found out about people forcing 3 rings and might detect it.

Have fun waiting for the new xbox in 3-5 years. You are best off getting a slim.
