Should I Restart Dragon Age: Origins?

Well, I'm currently 7 hours in, at Redcliffe Castle. Before I started the game I had no idea what type of character that I wanted to make, but I decided to go with Human Noble Warrior. At first I put some points into sword and shield, but then I wanted to dual weild, so I put 2 points into that. Now I'm thinking that I want to be a 2H, but I've already put several points into sword + shield. I'm really not liking my defensive character - I prefer to give out a lot of damage, rather than take.

Do you think I should restart the game, either as a 2H warrior or as a mage, or should I continue with what I have?

What level are you? The highest you can get is in the mid 20s or so. If you are a low level you can spare the few you used on those abilities. But if you are a high level you may want to resart.

I'm think I'm level 8. I'm just overall quite unhappy with my character. I might do another origin story next time I play the game - and decide if I would like to continue with that, or go back to my old character.

If your unhappy with your character then go ahead and start a new one. Playing as a character you dont like just makes the game seem more like work which defeats the purpose of playing it. Keep your old character just in case and start a new one. If you like it better play as him/her. If not go back to your first one.

I enjoyed the game most playing as an Elvish Mage.

It was fun. I think Dragon Age comes alive with the magical characters.
