HDMI makes a difference, maybe not a big difference. But if your tv has HDMI ports it might be worth it, also if you are running out of space on your hard drive that also might make it worth it. However, if these rumors about a slim 360 are true, there will probably be a fire sale on the fat 360's so you could get one for cheap, so I would wait until E3 and see if the rumors are true, because if they are, you'll probably be able to get one for cheaper in the fall.iamdanthamanI have 7 HDMI ports and am currently only using 1of them, and my hard drive space is spent... but I'm also broke from college. I hadn't heard of the slim, if this is a valid rumor then I may as well wait until E3 to hear what they have to say - the Elites will definitely drop a considerable amount if slims comes out.
So the thread topic pretty much explains it - should I sell my Xbox 360 that I got at launch, and get an elite? It is having more and more issues reading discs lately and I have sent it in 4 times (which apparently is good for a launch 360). Is the HDMI on the Elite worth it? EDIT: Not to mention the extra 100 GB of hard drive...PistolGripPump
lol, funny that your asking this as i literally just traded my launch 360 in for a elite yesterday. Do it at gamestop. The new elite bundle gives you Halo 3 ODST and Forza 3. If you have those you could just trade it in and take it off the 360 purchase. Also, my local gamestop had a deal going buy a new elite get a $50 gift card, idk if yours would have that. So, $50 gift card, 2 new games basically $100, and my old xbox netted me $90. I basically paid $40 for a elite(not counting taxes and such)
KEEP IN MIND THOUGH: Gamestop tends to be very picky about the condition of the 360's you trade in. I only got $90 for mine as it was classified 'defective' dispite it working almost perfectly. Still a amazing deal imo.

Where I live we just have EB Games, and I don't think they have that offer on unfortunately, otherwise I'd be alllll over that. hahaMy guess is that at some point your launch 360 is going to break. If you have the money to cover the difference, I would recommend upgrading to a Jasper Elite before that happens.
Just found this article on gamespot... is this the news of a slim you guys were referring to?PistolGripPumpThe Slim rumors have been debunked: http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/03/30/xbox-360-slim-is-not-real.aspx

That Picture is not the Slim, but they were not the origin of the slim rumors, the same person who leaked info about the PS3 slim leaked a picture of a smaller 360 motherboard, apparently from the slim. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6253740.html?tag=result;title;1
I'm still convinced there is a remodel on the way. I'd at least wait until E3. There have been too many crazy deals surfacing--120gig elite plus 2 games AND a $50 gift card? That's probably the reason you want to get a new one, no?
