should I start with Gears of War 1 or go straight to 2?

Obviously the sequel will have all kinds of improvements, tweaks, and better graphics, but should I grab the first one first and play through it to get the story? Or has it not aged well and it's better to just play the latest?

The first one has aged quite well and i personally had more fun playing it. You should also be able to find it for under $30 so i would pick it up if i were you.

I skipped right to the second. If I we're you I would just rent the first and buy the second. Second has better online, so I've heard.

the guy at gamestop said that gears 1 and 2 play almost indentically to each other. i haven't played either of them, but from what he said, i would go with gears 1 cus its less money, if you like it and beat it get gears 2

The first is worth playing anyway, so play it before the second.

i don't think it really matters. if you want a cool game with lots of great gamepley, get gears 2. i have both only because i had a chance to do that. i had a 360 when gears 1 came out and bought it just like everyone did. but you really won't be missing out on much if you just buy gears 2.

Coming from a person who has to play games in order, I'd play the original Gears first. It's a good game, and it's cheap. And hey, if you don't like it, you'll know not to get the second one, as the gameplay in the two are very similar.
