nah just make blue-ray an option like they did with HD-DVD. besides blue-ray has little effect on games so far. check my blog for the full details.Great_Ragnarok
without blu-ray, not blue-ray everyone, MGS4 simply would not have been possible. Games are getting more high tech, and that means they take up more space. The next console ms releases will definitely have blu-ray. Imagine what Gears of War could be with blu-ray. A huge campaign 20+ hours, with hundreds of locust on screen at a time. It'd be so amazing I what Cliffy B could do with it. I guarantee you that the next xbox has blu-ray built in, but i see no point in this console having it, it's too late in the generation for it. If anything, make an add-on just to allow movies to be played, but i doubt many people would pay 200 bucks for it. And Smirnov, you point out a great thing. The 360 is doing so well with it's one year head start. Why did the ps2 do so good, it was a little cheaper and came out a long time before the xbox and gamecube. It wasn't powerful but could produce near xbox quality graphics. MS and Sony basically switched strategy's for this console generation, and I'm inclined to say that MS is going to stay ahead for the next-gen and release early, probably 2010. So expect an MS blu-ray console in 2010, 2011 at the latest.
Sure it should have it. Why not? I dont think it should ever come with the system tho that way its always affordable to people that are low on money. But an add on would be good.Jaforbeya buy by the time the xext xbox comes out blue ray will be much cheaper
year it would look nice... microsoft is bigger than Sonys PS3 but copy the Bluer-Ray from them is a little low, dont you think?HyperMind
Copying sir that is called business if your competitor has something and it works take the idea and build upon it. PS3 copied Trophies, hard drive and the in game media bar from MS, they each got the rumble idea from Nintendo I believe Dreamcast was the first console to bring on-line to the masses. I'm not trying to get on you just informing you it happens all the time if it didn't we wouldn't have half the inventions we do:D
If I am correct MS will have a blu-ray player in there next 360 which is the platinum edition it has a 250gb hard drive and has a bluish tint to it, so it will go elite, gold, platinum. However as it will play blu-ray movies the games on blu-ray will not be until much later if it doesnt happen this gen I expect to see a add-on blu-ray player.
The next Xbox is codenamed Omega it will have blu-ray, full backwards compatibility they are continuing with Achievements you will be able to recover you gamer-tag plus it should come with a data cable too, there is more but I cant think of them at the moment.

please go to my blogand read one of my posts. I made a topic a while ago about blue-ray and showed how the advantages are abitrary. so much so that you could say it hardly has any effect. MGS4 could've been made on dvd if they compressed it. I mean for all that 50gb of data it still looks bland compared to some of the PC games. whats more it doesn't even run on 1080p!! graphics and physics is primarily about cpu and gpu. storage is not the biggest issue. and it certainly isn't an issue for the xbox360. thats why they should only make the blue-ray drive as an option. so people can watch movies etc. and for movies theres a definate advantage because a movie has to store each frame at 1920x1080!!

I have to inform you MGS4 does play in 1080p its the only game if not 1 of the only games that does on PS3, also there is noway MGS4 would fit on one DVD9 disc its not possible even compressed it would still be 3-4 disc long and 3 is pushing it I would say 4-5 look at Blue Dragon 5 disc, Lost Odyssey 4 disc blu-ray would eliminate all those extra disc.anyone who actualy thinks they will add blu-ray to the 360 for playing games is just dumb. they will not alienate all of their current customers
yes its a good idea for movies and anyone who doesnt think there is a difference needs their eyes checked
it should definetly be in the next one and that is the supposed rumor
